Ja mensen van heel de wereld. Journalisten hebben namens namens Q-Magazine deze keuze gemaakt.
Ik weet niet of het alleen maar journalisten van dit blad waren of dat er zoals in de OOR ook andere journalisten mochten meekiezen. Wel een typische Engelse keuze lijkt me. Deze hype duurt al 2 jaar maar ik kan me gen geweldig nummer van ze voor de geest halen. Iemand een idee hoe deze stemming was georganiseerd ?

Arctic Monkeys are generally considered part of the indie rock scene, alongside bands such as Bloc Party and Franz Ferdinand.Arctic Monkeys achieved their success through fan-made demo tapes and online file-sharing. They were heralded as one of the first acts to come to the public attention via the Internet, with commentators suggesting they represented the possibility of a change in the way in which new bands are promoted and marketed. The band eventually signed to the independent record label Domino Records.

Ach ja, prijsjes van grote bladen/sites/instituten. Vaak zijn dat toch gewoon extra cadeautjes voor je verkoopcijfers.

Dit soort uitverkiezingen zijn meestal een nekschot voor de carriere van de betreffende bands. Misschien doen ze het erom.

De meeste nummers zijn best aardig, ik heb zelfs de laatste cd, maar ze zijn echt niet briljant of geniaal zoals Muse of Radiohead of zo. Heb ze twee keer live zien verzuipen op Werchter, daar kwamen ze helemaal niet uit de verf.
Kan ik toch later tegen m'n kinderen zeggen dat ik de beste band van de heele wereld in 2007 live heb gezien.
Voor 10 seconden, waarna ik weg ben gerend...
Overigens is dit toch al uit de oude Q, ik heb die lijst een maand terug al in de winkel zien liggen?
