Fire at airport
The car was ablaze before crashing into the building
Man 'tackled driver'
A car on fire has been driven at the main terminal building at Glasgow Airport, police have confirmed.
Eyewitnesses have described a Jeep Cherokee being driven at speed towards the building with flames coming out from underneath.
They have also described seeing two Asian men, one of whom was on fire, who had been in the car.
The airport has been evacuated and all flights suspended following the incident at 1515 BST.
A Whitehall spokesman said the incident was not being treated as a national security threat.
One eyewitness said: "I heard the sound of a car's wheels spinning and smoke coming out.

"I saw a Jeep Cherokee apparently as if it was trying to get right through the doors into the terminal building.
"There were flames coming out from underneath then some men appeared from in amongst the flames.
"The police ran over and the people started fighting with the police. I then heard what sounded like an explosion."
Eye-witness Richard Gray told BBC News 24: "A green Jeep was in the middle of the doorway burning.

The incident happened 1515 BST on Saturday
"There was an Asian guy who was pulled out of the car by two police officers, who he was trying to fight off. They've got him on the ground.
"The car didn't actually explode. There were a few pops and bangs which presumably was the petrol."
Taxi driver Ian Crosby said: "This was no accident. This was a deliberate attack on Glasgow Airport."
The reaction of members of the public was not to help the men in the car, but to restrain them, he told the BBC.
Mr Crosby, who said he served in Northern Ireland, told how he shepherded people away from the scene in case of a secondary explosion or a nail-bomb.
Two men, one of whom was reported to be badly burned, were seen being led away in handcuffs.

Fire at airport
People at Glasgow Airport have been describing the scene after a car was driven at the main terminal building and caught fire.
Stephen Clarkson said he saw people running towards him and "panicking" then noticed a crashed Cherokee jeep.
"The man, an Asian man, was lying on the ground on fire, flames were coming from his body," he told BBC News 24.
Taxi driver Ian Crosby said he did not think it was an "accident... this was a deliberate attack".
He said he saw members of the public approached the driver and another man.
Mr Clarkson said he helped police restrain one of the men.
"It was lucky that I was there," he said.
"I managed to knock the man to the ground with my forearm and the police got on top of him and restrained him and put handcuffs on him."
Richard Grey, who was hoping to catch a holiday flight to Australia, said travellers watched the burning car before the terminal was evacuated.
"There was an Asian guy who'd been pulled out of the car by two police officers who he was trying to fight off," he said.
He added: "The car then sort of, didn't actually explode, there was a few pops and bangs which was presumably the tyres and the petrol and we were just stood watching as there didn't seem to be any order at first, people in the car park opposite just watching what was going on as the car was burning."

LONDON BOMB 'NOT SCARY ENOUGH', BROWN TELLS MI5
PRIME Minister Gordon Brown has dismissed the latest London bomb scare as "feeble" and "unlikely to frighten the public".
Mr Brown is understood to be disappointed with MI5's effort, describing it as "half-arsed and transparent".
A source close to Brown said: "The PM wanted to start things off by scaring the absolute, holy shit out of people.
"A badly driven Merc with a couple of gas bottles in the back does not cut the mustard.
"We asked for Arabic literature on the passenger seat, a map of Whitehall with big red crosses on it and a huge controlled explosion on live television. Someone will be getting their backside felt for this."
The source added: "We're trying to introduce ID cards, imprisonment without trial and swingeing restrictions on freedom of speech.
"We wouldn't be able to force through new parking regulations on the back of this pile of arse."
Brown compared MI5 to the cast of 'Police Academy'
Police say they are looking for "a man" in connection with the incident in London's Haymarket.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Our investigations are currently centred on a man. If you see a man you should react with complete terror and run screaming into the nearest busy shop or pub."

The drama came as it emerged that a 53-page document alerting businesses to the threat posed by VBIEDs — vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices — had been issued to police two weeks ago. It had been passed on to the Tiger Tiger club only a few days before yesterday’s events.
The incident also appeared to be foreshadowed by a posting on an internet forum used by terrorists, saying: “Today I say: Rejoice, by Allah. London will be bombed.”

Scott Leeson was waiting to pick up a colleague when he witnessed the Jeep smash in to the airport building.
He told Sky News: "The car came speeding past at about 30mph. It was approaching the building quickly.
"Then the driver swerved the car around so he could ram straight in to the door. He must have been trying to smash straight through.
"Luckily he did not get the car too far in. He just managed to get the nose of the Jeep inside.
"I spoke to an airport official who seemed to think it was not an accident. He was very angry. He said the men in the car got out and started throwing petrol about - that must be how it caught fire.
"Luckily my colleague and his family were delayed or they could have been coming out of that door at exactly that time."
Holidaymaker Stephen Clarkson said he knocked one of the men to the floor before police intervened.
He said: "There was an Asian male. He was lying on the floor and he was on fire, the Jeep was on fire as well.
"The fellow got up and started fighting with police. I managed to knock the Asian fellow to the ground and four police officers got on top of him."
He added: "His whole body was on fire. He was quite a big fellow and was disorientated otherwise I wouldn't have been able to knock him down."
James Edgar said: "People were running past like they had missed their flight.
"They told us all to get out of the airport.
"Everyone was in a panic and police and security were scuffling with an Asian gentleman."
Mr Edgar said an ordinary car fire burns itself out quickly, "but this went on and on".
"There were a few pops, obviously the fuel tanks would have gone, but it was as if there was maybe more accelerant in the vehicle."
He thought some of the building had caught fire as well, so that may have added to the effect.
Referring to a picture of the blazing jeep, he said: "He's trying to get through the main door frame, but the bollards have stopped him from going through. If he'd got through, he'd have killed hundreds, obviously."
Another eyewitness, Margaret Hughes, said that people were screaming and running towards the exit shortly after the explosion.
"As soon as I left the building there was black smoke gushing out where the car had obviously been driven into the airport," she said.
She said the man who had been on fire appeared very calm as he was led away by police.
"He seemed fairly composed, you could say almost in a state of shock," she said.
"He was quite a large man ... and very heavy set. Very dark hair and dark colouring."
Taxi driver Ian Crosby, who also witnessed the incident, said he was in no doubt that it was a terrorist attack.
"It looks to me like these people were intent on doing some serious damage," he said.
He saw a small explosion which looked like it was coming from the back of the vehicle.
"There was smoke coming from inside of the back seats," he said.
"Immediately I realised this was a terrorist attack."
"Somebody had planned this. This was no accident."
He praised the bravery of those who tried to restrain the man, "putting their lives at risk".
