You're just chatting on msn, relaxing, when suddenly some dumb-ass girl asks you if you can translate BEP's "Where is the Love" for them, 'cause they don't speak English that well. Or when you're sendin' some girl a song like "You've got friend in me" by Randy Newman, and she's all like "Lief van je maar ik kan niet zo goed Engels ". Drivin' me nuts!
General complaint: Dumb people who don't even have the goddamn common courtesy to study and comprehend the only language in the world everyone on the planet is supposed to be able to speak, one of the simplest languages in the western hemisphere, plain old English.
Might as well reply in English, just to show you're not one of 'em.

Can't say that this tops the annoyance list, as that spot is still firmly within the grasp of those who profess to have more knowledge than the mere basics, yet fail to understand the simple concept of 'did' with another verb.

Lekker arrogant bezig om te verwachten dat iedereen Engels spreekt. Als je eens je schuurtje uitkomt en gaat reizen kom je er misschien achter dat misschien maar 10% van Europa (U.K uitgesloten) Engels spreekt. Vaak kom je verder met Frans of Duits.

It might be said that those people you've mentioned here just yet, do not only use the combination of "did" and another verb incorrectly, but neither seem to understand the simple fact that the word "did" is only properly used in sentences which are to be used to prove a before-propositioned statement wrong, or in the statement on which the "did"-sentence replies, as in "Did you fuck my girlfriend?" I agree with you. Though, here in The Netherlands it isn't that bad when it comes to people who don't speak English. Just compare Dutch people with, for example, French people. I noticed that French people have quite a lot of trouble when it comes to speaking English. The people there do get English lessons if they go to school, but they don't seem to care about speaking English that much. Are they too proud of there own language, maybe!?
