Vier rond-de-twintig-jarige jongens uit Bournemouth... Stonden op London Calling, touren nu UK met pigeon detectives en hebben een EP uit alsmede een paar singles... CD "Fractured Life" komt uit op 2 juli. 24 juni spelen ze op parkpop in Den Haag.

Air Traffic are an English indie rock band from Bournemouth. The band used to practice in an abandoned aircraft hangar, where air traffic control signals would be picked up on their amplifiers, leading to their name. Their music features heavy use of piano, and they have been described by NME to be like "Supergrass covering Little Richard".

Their first single, a double-a side of "Just Abuse Me" and "Charlotte", was released in July 2006 through the independent record label Label Fandango. 500 copies of the single were produced, all of which sold out within a few days of the release date. Following this, the band were signed to the Tiny Consumer branch of EMI in the same month. They were noticed by Radio 1 DJ Steve Lamacq and began to receive some mainstream success, with their song "Never Even Told Me Her Name" receiving airplay on Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio.

They spent much of August and September 2006 in Monmouth, Wales, recording their music in a recording studio. Four of these tracks were released as an EP on 30th October, which included the single "Never Even Told Me Her Name", "Get In Line", an acoustic version of "Time Goes By", and a demo of "Shooting Star", a song released as a promo CD. A music video was produced for "Never Even Told Me Her Name" by the company type2error, who created videos for the likes of Paul Weller, Captain, Hope of the States and The Rakes.

Recently the band re-released "Charlotte" on March 26, 2007. This marked the band's first move into the charts, with the song reaching #33 in the UK Singles Chart.

ik heb nu ongeveer alles wat er te vinden is qua audio (en ja cyaa.. air traffic haalt arctic monkeys en the strokes in op last.fm... i'm actually quite sad)

ze staan nu ook op lowlands

nee ik luister nog steeds air traffic, ik sta al een maand bij hun weekly top listeners.. het wordt steeds erger

hehe ja maar dat vind ik ook wel vet, het is alleen zo raar omdat ze zo onbekend zijn en arctic monkeys en the strokes uitverkochte concerten hebben. maar het is niet alsof ik het expres doe of zo, het gaat gewoon vanzelf

Uh ik stond helemaal vooraan, maar het podium was best huge en hoog en er zat nog 10 meter tussen of zo... en er stonden wijven achter me die schreeuwden alsof ze vermoord werden

Maar! De piano stond te zacht in het begin, ik vond het nieuwe refrein van this old town vaag, en ik kende 1 liedje niet, tot ik erachter kwam dat de titel gewoon op zo'n scherm stond maar dat ontdekte ik te laat. En dat zegt jullie wss allemaal niks, maar ik vertel het toch maar

Het was pure liefde Haha ahh jawel. Dit is waarschijnlijk nu een van mn fav bands, maar ik schijn een van de enigen te zijn en dat is stom.. En ik ging de setlist bijhouden maar toen ging ik mensen smsen en toen was ik 'm weer kwijt Ze speelden een paar nummers van t nieuwe album maar mainly oude dingetjes (of ja, nee die staan ook op t album, maar ze speelden ook I can't understand en Fractured Life en die zijn 'nieuw') en an end to all our problems was echt geniaal mooi.
