Witnesses heard several small blasts and saw smoke rising from inside the British Embassy compound in central Tehran on Sunday during a protest over 15 detained sailors and marines.
One witness cited eight blasts saying they came from small, home-made explosive devices. Others said about 200 students had gathered at the Embassy.
A British Foreign Office spokeswoman has reportedly said there has been no damage or injuries.

EHRAN, Iran: About 200 students threw rocks and firecrackers at the British Embassy on Sunday, calling for the expulsion of the country's ambassador because of the standoff over Iran's capture of 15 British sailors and marines.
Several dozen policeman prevented any of the protesters from entering the Embassy compound, although a few did briefly scale a fence that lies outside the compound's walls before being pushed back, according to an Associated Press reporter at the scene.
The protesters chanted "death to Britain" and "death to America" as they hurled stones into the courtyard of the embassy. They also demanded that the Iranian government expel the British ambassador and close down the embassy, calling it a "den of spies."
Britain's Foreign Office said there had been no damage to the compound.
"There is a demonstration taking place at the embassy," said a British Foreign Office spokeswoman in London, speaking on condition of anonymity in line with government rules. "No damage has been done to the embassy."

iran is echt niet zwak hoor, irak is al een tweede vietnam, maar als Amerika Iran binnen valt wordt dat zeker weten een Vietnam scenario
