Jedward spreekt voor beurt; eerst voorronde
Vorige week maakte Jedward nog bekend dat ze Ierland weer gaan vertegenwoordigen op het ESF in Bakoe. Dat kan nog steeds, maar dan moet wel eerst de voorronde worden gewonnen.
De Ierse omroep RTÉ maakte gisteravond bekend dat er ‘gewoon’ een nationale selectie wordt gehouden volgens de methode van dit jaar met vijf artiesten en vijf mentoren die verantwoordelijk zijn voor het nummer. Jedward zal één van die vijf artiesten zijn.
De andere vier artiesten zijn nog niet bekend. Wel is duidelijk dat Linda Martin één van de mentoren zal zijn en Jedward onder haar hoede neemt. (bron: RTÉ)

There will be five artists competing, including last year's representives 'Jedward'. Those artists will be mentored by five mentors. They are:
Edele Lynch (singer and songwriter)
Bill Hughes (television professional)
Julian Benson (choreographer)
Greg French (producer and songwriter)
Linda Martin (Eurovision winner)
National final will be held on February 24th. The show is called The Late Late Show : Eurosong 2012. This is the same format, used an year ago. The winner will be decided by a combined jury- and televotes.

Tenzij ze een geweldig lied hebben, denk ik dat 1x voor deze groep wel genoeg is. Ik kan me er weinig bij voorstellen, dat ze bij een 2e poging nog succesvoller gaan zijn. Ook al omdat ze dit jaar al hoger eindigden bij de jury's dan bij de televoters.
De Sahara is zonder meer erg droog.
Wel, van mij mogen ze, maar ik denk niet dat het veel beter zal gaan dan vorig jaar.
Vorig jaar waren ze fris en verrassend, onverwacht.

A duo consisting of singers Una Gibney and David Shannon joined the line-up of Eurosong 2012, the Irish national final for this year's Eurovision Song Contest. Julian Benson, a show business agent, will be mentoring the duo in their attempt to win the Irish ticket to Baku. The authors of Una & David's song are Benson himself and Éanán Patterson.
Ireland will select its representative for this year's Eurovision Song Contest during The Late Late Show on February 24th when a Eurosong special will be held. Five acts will compete for the right to represent 'The Emerald Isle' at Europe's favorite TV show. The winner will be determined through a combination of jury (3/4) and tele voting (1/4).

Nick uses the word waterline as a metaphor for falling in love, and this will be his first time in Eurovision, if we make it" , says former Eurovision winner and Jedward's mentor Linda Martin. She adds : "Nothing is a given. Jedward and I know that we are up against five good songs from five great singers. It's a five-horse race".

Het lijkt me echt nog geen gelopen race voor de twins, want Mistaken en Mercy zijn ook 2 goede liedjes. Het zijn in elk geval mijn favorieten! Jedward heeft een leuk nummer, in elk geval niet zo'n horror lied als vorig jaar

Ja Greys. Ik VREES er %@&%&$!!! er zelfs voor dat ze weer winnen. Ik vind ze gewoon irritant. Gelukkig valt het nummer erg mee dus ik kan er mee leven (gelukkig maar), maar zie toch liever iemand anders winnen. De tweeling is enorm populair dus die zullen denk ik wel een streepje voor hebben op de rest en ik weet zeker dat hun fans no matter what massaal zullen stemmen. Is er nog een jury die ze kan tegenhouden?
