Marion lijkt frontrunner bij beste actrice, wat er wel op wijst hoe zwak die categorie dit jaar is, anders maak je echt geen kans met een hoofdrol in een relatief onbekend Belgisch filmpje. Ja, ze won al eens voor een Franse film en Riva was enkele jaren terug ook genomineerd voor een niet-Engelstalige film, maar daar zaten veel agressievere campagnes achter. Nu is 't echt van "het is in Hollywood zo triest dat we 't wel elders moeten gaan zoeken".

Ik heb het niet over een specifieke award. Ik bedoel eerder dat ik Spotlight, Creed, The Revenant, Room, The Martian en dergelijke meer eigenlijk allemaal ongeveer even goed vind en hoop dat ze allemaal iets winnen, alleen blijft er niet meteen iets over voor The Martian (of je moet al voor production design gaan). Als het even kan, dan mogen Inside Out en The Big Short winnen bij writing, dan hebben die ook nog iets.

Alleen Mad Max vind ik wel een niveau hoger dan de rest, maar ook daar ben ik al tevreden indien Miller iets krijgt.
