De trailer bevat een aantal in-game beelden die je niet gaat geloven. Echte features zijn nog niet bekend maar ik ben wel benieuwd wat de gamers van deze titel vinden. Het lijkt me erg cool

Straight Soul Reaver combat this is not. Combat is more engaging, more fluid, more dynamic, more responsive, and soaked with more visual flare than other titles. You can even do more. In addition to the above, it's possible to slash while shimmying alongside walls, dangling from ropes, hanging from ledges, flipping from rods, and flying through the air. Practically all of us at one point in time thought aloud that this was how Enter the Matrix should have been done, especially since this game even includes some of those Matrix style special effects Danny mentioned. Fear not, hardcore PoP fan, it won't ruin the experience for you.
Every character moves with startling believability and fluidity. Graphical effects from the glow of torches (all lights in the final will be dynamic and soft, and very much like SC), to the flow of tapestries (which Splinter actually took from this!), to the billow of smoke, to the haze of a dusty battlefield, to the burn of a blazing desert sun upon limestone, and the soft ripple of an indoor pool as it reflects and refracts appropriately, distorting the lower half of ankles submerged in it, are everywhere. It's insanity! This is not PS2. Crisp, clean, defined, rich, and littered with effects previously thought impossible for that system, Prince of Persia may very well redefine what is expected of graphics in third-person action on the PlayStation. And the end promise? All of that which was seen plus higher resolution everything and even more effects on other platforms.
According to one rep, all versions should be available in November, but another mentioned that the PC version may slip to early 2004. Whatever the case, we're more than willing to wait and you should be, too. Early candidate for game of show? Perhaps. All I know is that we can't stop talking about it around here.
Screenshots OMG Dit geloof je toch niet
En dit zijn dan de PS2 screens,.... de Cube en Xbox versies zullen wat geiler zijn
Deze onderstaande movies wil ik IGNinsiders toch niet onthouden.
We've got our first look at Ubi Soft's previously silent project Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. And, wow, is it gorgeous. Whether you're speaking the jargon of GameCube, PlayStation 2, or Xbox, this title shines. What platform does it look so beautiful on? The PlayStation 2. It will surely look dazzling on the rest.
Ubi Soft has created an absolutely unbelievable engine, featuring unchallenged cinematic cameras, special effects, and art design. We can't wait to get our hands on this one again soon.
To pass the time, we've been hypnotizing ourselves with these clips. Join us, won't you?

TombRaider meets Blinx, but in a good way. Now that's a spicy meatball! E3 report inside
14:29 Who'd have thought a doddery old platformer could find itself resurrected as one of the games of the show at E3? Yet that's exactly what's happened with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. It looks absolutely glorious, of course, but more than that this imaginative reworking of the old classic played brilliantly too.
What at best seemed like something of a curiosity quickly proved to be a major lure - and everyone who sampled the title came away rhapsodizing about it. So what's so great? Well...
You play the Prince of the title, who packs both sword fighting skills and martial arts, as well as a finely attuned athletic grace - in laymans terms, this guy can jump. And run along walls.
Animation is pretty much faultless, while the more general look of the levels will have you slavering, but more than that, as a whole package this felt like a game we wanted to settle down and spend the rest of our lives with.
While the original game was a strictly 2D affair, Sands of Time is being developed by Ubi Soft Montreal, the team behind Splinter Cell - not surprisingly then, we're talking about fully 3D environments.
What's even more out there is that the game takes the time manipulation idea from Blinx - yeah, Blinx! - and works it to the max. Collect enough magic ability - hey, it's a bit of a corny device but who cares - and you can use one of five time-shifting abilities to your advantage. And it's ace.
Some thuggish bad guy strikes you with a fatal blow? No problem, just hit the rewind. Next time you're unknowing attacker will attack using exactly the same move, but you'll be ready for him. There's bullet-time effects too - you can slow down the bad guys and freeze enemies. There's even something called foresight, where a cutscene kicks in and you can see what else the level has to offer.
The game uses a third-person view, but at any time you can zoom right out to examine your surroundings and see what's coming up. Oh, and of course there are simply dozens of fiendish traps and puzzles to outwit, as well as the afore-mentioned villains.
Simply put, Prince of Persia looks sensational. The title is due for release on November 14. Now if only we could do a little fast forward...

edit: nog even bovenstaande foto toegevoegd :-)
