Vandaag heb ik een Das Ich album gekocht, namelijk "Satanische Verse", wat ik wel intrigerend vind.

Kan iemand mij wat meer vertellen over dit project?!

After many musical experiments, Stefan Ackermann (voices and lyrics) and Bruno Kramm (instruments, music) decided to form das ich in 1989. In 1991, das ich released the maxi CD "Satanische Verse" (Satanic Verses) and their debut album "Die Propheten" (Ihe Prophets) on Bruno Kramm's own label, Danse Macabre. das ich skillfully mixed electronic, symphonic and early industrial elements into an explosive cocktail unprecedented in the often clich&-ridden German music culture. das ich establishes itselfwith a fixed position in the scene and becomes the very epitome of experimental and electronic music. They are celebrated as the starting spark of a new genre of postwave, post Kraftwerk, post Neubauten era, and successfully lead the way in the charts of the independent scene. Tours all over Europe strengthen the position of das ich, who quickly get a reputation for being "apocalyptic eccentrics", since their concerts appear to be evil and bone-jarring spectacles. After the release of their maxi CD ,,Stigma" in 1993, das ich goes off on an extended tour through all of Europe and the U.S., and in addition play at various festivals, for example the Peter Gabriel WOMAD in Hamburg, as weil as at the Documenta in Kassel. After that follows what up to now is their most compressed work as weil as their least accessible, "Staub" (Dust). lts success underpins their precedence. Released right at Christmas time, ,,Staub" is on the waiting list of the German Media Gontrol Charts for 11 weeks. After the band recruited the drummer Chad Blinman on the U.S. tour, das ich grew into a genuine live band. In 1995 they put the live album ,,Feuer" (Fire) out on the market to put to rest the bias contained in the terrn ,,canned music", which all electronic bands have to deal with sooner or later. lmmediately after that a project done in common with ,,Atrocity" was put out. The album"Die Liebe" (Love) was a successful attention-getter for both bands and is still numbered among the first representatives of the successful metal/gothic crossover movement of the time. At the end of 1996 das ich begins the earIy work on their new album ,,Egodram" (Ego Drama). However, the work had to be interrupted for half a year in order to make the soundtrack album ,,Das innere Ich" (The Inner I) for the underground film "Das Ewige Licht" (The Eternal Light). After a further successful tour in the U.S. in May of 1997, the work on ,"Egodram" could finally begin again and be completed at the end of 1997. While all the previous releases appeared on Bruno Kramm's own Danse Macabre label, das ich decided in the summer of 1997 to make a worldwide recording contract with edel records, and from now on concentrate completely on their own artistic activities.

|BRUNO KRAMM<

Geboren in München, stammt er aus einem sehr musikalisch geprägtem Haus.Schon früh lernte er Klavier spielen und formierte bereits 86 seine erste rein elektronische Formation "fahrenheit 451". Bruno Kramm komponiert die Songs der Gruppe, programmiert Synthesizer / Sampler und produziert die Alben des Extremduos. Die meisten Coverartworks stammen auch aus seiner Hand. Der Studio-Workaholic produziert nicht nur die eigenen Songs: Gruppen wie Atrocity, Illuminate, Saviour Machine, Die Schinder, Ancient Ceremonies, Goethes Erben, Sanguis Et Cinis, In Strict Confidence, Placebo Effect, Relatives Menschsein, Printed At Bismarcks Death, Ghosting, Cyan killsE.Coli, Collide, Dorsetshire, Tilt! hat er bereits hinter den Reglern als Produzent bedient. Seinem Seitenprojekt Alva Novalis (vormals fahrenheit 451) kann er jedoch nicht mehr viel Zeit opfern, da "das ich" und die vielen Produktionen im eigenen Studio immer mehr Zeit beanspruchen. Trotzdem wird Anfang 2001 sein Projekt "Kramm" erscheinen, bei dem er nicht nur die Song schreibt sondern auch singt. Auch ist er bereits mit neuen Songs für das langerwartete neue "das ich" Album beschäftigt.

|STEFAN ACKERMANN<

Geboren in Berlin lernten sich er und Bruno bereits 88 in Bayreuth kennen. Der Tänzer aus Begabung übte schon sehr früh an seinem Talent. Seine schauspielerischen Fähigkeiten stellt er auf der Bühne eindrucksvoll unter Beweiss. Der lyrische Expressionismus als Hauptinspiration hilft ihm die extrem theatralische Sprache von das ich umzusetzen und die Bühneperformance durch ausdrucksvollen Tanz, Mimik und Gestik zu unterstützen. Privat sehr introvertiert, kommt sein Temperament vor Allem auf der Bühne zur Explosion.Der Hang zum Expressionismus wird auch durch seine bisweilen kontroversen Bühnenoutfits unterstrichen. Unberechenbare Auftritte mit Ganzkörperschminke und skurrilen Makeups verstärken den dämonischen Ausdruck seiner Bühnenpräsenz. Seine Texte beschäftigen sich mit der Menschlichkeit und der Entfremdung des Individuums im Koordinatensystem zwischen Gesellschaft und dem ich. Stefans Gesang ist ein markerschütternder Aufschrei des gequälten Individuums.Seine größte Leidenschaft ist jedoch das Theaterspiel und so konnte er 1997 in einer experimentellen Bühnenaufführung des Stückes Elektra als Horest brillieren. Zuletzt beteiligte er sich stimmlich an der Atrocity CD "die liebe" und an Vocals für Remixe der Gruppen "Die Schinder" und "Cut.Rate.Box". 1999 führte er gemeinsam mit dem Bühnenbauer von das ich, Peter Gahr eine Tanzperformance auf. Mittlerweile auf einem Schloß residierend ist Stefan seit Anfang 2000 verheiratet.
