All John solo. Some acoustic, some electric.
What a set. Was only supposed to be 45 minutes, but John gave the people what they wanted for more than an hour. "Noise for Tots" if you will. The room was full of great people and my man did his thing, commenting between the set and encore, "man, this kinda feels like Eddie's Attic."
Maybe that's why he busted out the rarely-played Stop This Train. Or threw some old favorites like Neon and St. Patty's into the mix. Gravity must have been 8 minutes long - John looped the riff at the end and soloed over it. Beautiful stuff. It was a very special night...those acoustic shows in December have a way of getting to you.
And I got to hang with The Chad all day!
In other news, please bring Allen Iverson to the Clippers! I'm talkin' bout Clippers, man. I'm talkin' bout Clippers, man. Not the Knicks, not the Knicks, not the Knicks...I'm talking bout Clippers man. What am I talking about? The Clippers??

quote:SIMPSON & MAYER MAKING BEAUTIFUL MUSIC TOGETHER JESSICA SIMPSON is helping to further reports she's romancing JOHN MAYER by planning to record a film duet with the blues singer/songwriter.
Simpson and Mayer have repeatedly shot down reports they're dating but were recently photographed dining out together, and now the pop star wants to get Mayer in the studio.
She has reportedly asked Mayer to record a duet with her for the soundtrack of her new film, BLONDE AMBITION, according to American magazine Life & Style.

One of my favorite shows on television, The Office, wanted to use my song "Your Body Is A Wonderland" in a scene for their Christmas episode. Now, I'm not making apologies for my work, but it's safe to say I don't get asked to use "Wonderland" for strongman competitions and documentaries about aircraft carriers. I get asked so that people can goof on it. I initially turned the request down, but after thinking about it, (and hearing the details on the incredibly funny sounding scene from producer BJ Novak) I decided to go for it - but with one stipulation:
I want a Dundie.
The episode airs tonight, Thursday December 14th (NBC), so check it out and hear Michael Scott butcher the song during karaoke night at a Scranton Benihana's.
In the meantime, here are pictures of myself and the only award that matters in this business.
Here I am in Dunder-Mifflin's Dundie press room. What a thrilling evening.
Thanks "Office" workers.

JOHN MAYER
Mayer's sixth disc made one thing clear: Homeboy has his shit together. Continuum is Mayer's most assured album yet, channeling familiar gifts -- fluid guitar-playing, sexy white-boy croon, strong tune sense -- with more subtlety, more focus and less lady-baiting cheese than ever. The result is a breezy pop-rock record that surrounds supremely crafted songs like "Vultures" with soul like "Gravity" and weightier stuff like "Waiting on the World to Change."
