Nee, dan The Hobbit met de serieuze toon van de LOTR-films
Ok het kwaad werd goed neergezet maar die domme grapjes van Legolas en Gimli waren gewoon onnodig, ik vond vooral in de two towers die "grapjes" de spannende momenten direct de nek omdraaien.
Dat werd dan na een minuut weer hersteld door de enorme belegering van Helm's Deep gelukkig.
Ook dat tellen van kills tijdens de veldslagen komt gewoon gebrekkig over, verzin dan wat meer oneliners of laat ze meer emotie tonen.
Het had toch handiger geweest om de Hobbit als eerste te verfilmen en daarna LOTR. Is toch een veel logischere opbouw. Mooie films waren dat trouwens LOTR, de figuren zagen er bijna net zo uit zoals ik ze me had voorgesteld toen ik de boeken las vooral Gandalf.

A One Ring.Net spy who was recently in the New York offices of New Line Cinema has reported that they clearly saw "The Hobbit" on the film schedule for 2007:
"I was in New Line's NY offices to discuss upcoming projects when I clearly saw something very intriguing on a year planner. 'The Hobbit' was clearly marked on what looked like July 2007.
I couldn't exactly take a moment to investigate the calendar with my audience in the room, but it definitely said 'The Hobbit'. Lets hope this is a Peter Jackson project!".
The rumour sounds far-fetched, not so much for the project but rather the date. A July 2007 start of production date however, sounds like a possibility and New Line is definitely interested in doing the "Lord of the Rings" prequel.

MGM chairman-CEO Harry Sloan is moving the studio aggressively into the tentpole business with two or three big-budget releases a year reports Variety.
Over the next few years, MGM is planning to release half a dozen films, some in the $150 million to $200 million-plus range. Studio is ready to unveil such high-profile projects as "Terminator 4"; one or two installments of "The Hobbit," which Sloan hopes will be directed by Peter Jackson; and a sequel to "The Thomas Crown Affair" with Pierce Brosnan.
The studio has already announced a "Pink Panther" sequel and the next 007 pic "Bond 22," due out in November 2008. "Rocky Balboa" unspools in February.

Er is al wel een tekenfilm van The Hobbit, maar die is een beetje kinderlijk. Volgens mij is ie ook best wel oud al. Wel met leuke muziekjes

Maar voor wat betreft de geruchten, ik heb ergens gelezen dat Peter Jackson in 2007 een film ging maken over "The Dambusters" (de aanvallen op de Ruhrdammen in de 2e Wereldoorlog). En voorlopig geen "Hobbit" dus.

On September 22nd a petition with 39116 signatures upon it was delivered to MGM & New Line. It's aim? For the studio to get Peter Jackson and whatever members of "The Lord of the Rings" cast & crew back for the studio's forthcoming adaption of "The Hobbit".
Now this past weekend, The One Ring received a letter from MGM, with an official statement from Rick Sands, the company's chief operating officer. Here it is in full:
"Peter Jackson's phenomenal success with The Lord of the Rings trilogy makes him the first and most ideal choice for directing The Hobbit. MGM would be thrilled to collaborate with the Academy Award-winning director on this MGM New Line Cinema production. And, I'm sure to the delight of the 50,000 filmgoers who have petitioned us in recent weeks, demanding we bring this film to fruition, we have had a few initial conversations about the project with Mr. Jackson's representatives."
