While speaking on a panel at the Ziff Davis Electronic Games Summit in Napa earlier today, Ubisoft North America President Laurent Detoc revealed that his company currently has seven titles in development for Nintendo's upcoming Wii platform. This show of support came as a surprise to many, as the company had previously only demonstrated two of those seven titles: Rayman Raving Rabbids and Red Steel.
Detoc praised the Wii several times during the panel, stating that he expects it to have "a large audience and market." He also stated that he personally felt that in a time when fewer and fewer games appeal to him, the Wii offers plenty of enjoyment. "The first time I picked up that sucker I couldn't stop playing it."
On the same panel, Midway President David Zucker stated that his company has six titles in development for the Wii.

Call of Duty 3 logo thumb
Activsion confirmed that Call of Duty 3 will indeed be a launch title for the Wii, which they announced at the Activate Asia press conference. Of course, Activision did not give a specific date for the title, just a confirmation that it would be there on day one. New screenshots for the PS3/Xbox 360 version were published, but unfortunately no new Wii media was shown.
Rampage : Total destruction komt naar de Wii:quote:Second Nintendo event at LGC
lgcWe reported a few days back that Nintendo has a presentation set up for the LGC called “Wii Prove Our Promise”, which is rumored to show off 5 new Wii games. Now we find out that taking place later that same day, another event has been listed. This time the event is called “Electronic Arts / Nintendo”. Just this morning we posted about EA’s new push with the Wii and DS, seeing them both as strong platforms. Perhaps EA has been thinking about their relationship with Nintendo for quite some time, now that we have seen this event pop up. No one knows what will be shown during this presentation. EA may show off Need for Speed: Carbon, and Madden (both for the Wii), but then again, maybe they will show off some new projects they have planned for the DS or Wii. LGC is really shaping up to be a huge event for Nintendo!
enquote:The Rampage rumors were true!
We have been posting Rampage for Wii rumors for a couple weeks now, and I am happy to report that those rumors have come true! Midway has announced that they are working on an enhanced version of Rampage: Total Destruction for the Wii, which is looking to lauch this winter.
“We are extremely excited to be bringing the mayhem of Rampage: Total Destruction to the Nintendo Wii. “With updated graphics and even more extreme monsters, fans of this classic arcade series, as well as new players, will have more than a handful this winter.” - Steve Allison, chief marketing officer, Midway
Rampage: Total Destruction for the Wii will feature enhanced graphics, 10 new characters, super moves, and combo attacks. Check out some screens of the Wii version below.

[quote]Wii launch week narrowed down?
This comes from our very good friend Falafelkid’s blog, a blog I have been linked to since our very first days at Nintendo Now Blogspot. I trust the info he posts, as well as I trust the man himself. I would take this info with a good amount of trust. One of his blogger friends (one that he trusts as well) sent him some insider info, telling him that the Wii is set from launch in the US somewhere between Friday Nov 10th, to Thursday Nov 16th.
I got the call tonight gamers from my inside source. And I thought it was going to be just a normal tuesday night. Now I know that everyone has “sources” but I can assure you mine works for a major retail company and they have received information on the Wii release.
As we know, Ubisoft has posted numerous dates on their official site that stated November as the launch for the Wii (Red Steel, Rayman Raving Rabbids) only to take them down later. As far as I am concerned, this is the info I am sticking with as the launch date…but I will keep it rumor just to be fair.

Thanks to the team at Wii-x2, I found out that the Wii page over at Gamefly has been updated. Now the page lists the Wii release as November, which would go along nicely with the info we posted a few stories down. Looks like the November release rumor is gaining steam, now are we going to believe the 10th-16th info?!
