im sorry, i wanted to write this because i felt like if i didn't say anything you all might believe the rubbish your being fed .

hello friends ,
i lay in bed last night realising I havn't ben here in ages , so apoogies . A quick update for you . I am currently in Paris and staying at the plaza athenee , which is an amazing hotel steeped in the most fascinating history , I have an amazing room which has another room in it for emily , I really do feel very very lucky to be here and have these oppertunities . I arrived here yesterday and went to the Stella show , which was lovely, and this morning I went to Chanel , which was soooooooo glaamourous I don't even know where to start , I sat next to Claudia Schiffer and Kirsten Dunst , it seems unfathomable that my first song "smile" was released just over a year ago and now here I am , in the most beautiful city in the world , sitting in the front rows of the most amazing fashion shows , that others would die to just get into . I really am a very lucky girl .
I spent the past couple of weeks in a twee little cottage in the cotswolds starting on the next album , and it's gone so well , i'm just over the moon at the moment , i feel like im on prozac or something . I won't say much but it's a different musical direction and really quite exciting . everything just seems to be falling into place . yes i did go out and get smashed the other night , some of you have probably seen the pictures , but i am but 22 , enjoying my life and celebrating . as the cold starts to set in , im thinking next year is going to be a good one .
anything else ? im doing fashion rocks in a couple of weeks , which should be quite exciting and then going back into the studio to finsh off the album , oh and im having meetings about a potential tv show , which is all very interesting . And thats about it , i hope you are all well , im off now .

As you might already know the BBC have been silly enough to to fund my very own TV show . It will be on in the new year on BBC3 and I am very excited about it . There will be good celebrity guests , not rubbish ones and brilliant bands playing brilliant music . And of course a pregnant me trying to present it all .
One of the ideas of the show is to publicise bands that have not been on T.V before , so if there are any great bands or acts you know of that you think I should have on then please let me know .
More importantly I want you all to be involved in some way ( if you're interested ) . A big part of the show will be based around you guys, so please go and sign up on the show website for chances to get involved , like being in the audience , or sending stuff in for me to talk about , or sending in questions for my guests . Good news, the first ever ‘Lily Allen and Friends’ is done and dusted and it went swimmingly I must say! Lily, dressed in a beautiful red number, announced to the audience she was 'nervous' but really pulled it out of the bag as the show went on.

The guests couldn’t have been more fun. Lily got cosy on the sofa with Peep show star David Mitchell and film megastar Cuba Gooding Jr, who took his top off for half the interview.
We were also treated to a performance and a half from Reverend and the Makers who wowed the audience and crew alike. Lead singer Jon is a true genius, he was walking round set strumming his guitar all day.
My favourite part of the show was the questions to the guests from our internet correspondents; Chris Crocker in particular. Funny guy. Oh and a certain miss Anne Robinson (who was filming The Weakest Link in the studio next door) gave Lily a little surprise by crashing our set. Very funny.

So it’s one episode down, seven episodes to go now. Please keep on sending in funny youtube clips you come across and also new band suggestions.

Tune in to the show on Tuesday at 10.30pm on BBC 3 to see what all the fuss is about.

Ok so I wrote the longest blog yesterday and then I lost it because I'm a twat, but I'm writing you one now on my brand new MacBook air. I just got in from an exhibition opening, 100 years of Vanity Fair at the National Portrait Gallery, well actually it wasn't 100 years of Vanity Fair, but if they'd waited 5 more years then it would have been. I can't believe it's been going since 1913, amazing really. The Mac Book's pretty cool, it is so light it's quite unbelievable, I wonder where they'll go next, I don't see how they can get any smaller.

I went to a fashion show this morning and saw some old friends, which was nice, I have been venturing out the last week or so, trying to get back to normality after what has been a rocky start to the year. I went to a pre-bafta party on Saturday with my friend George that was so lovely, he is a wonderful friend and I will always be grateful for his being there. I plan to go to a few things this week, it's fashion week here in London, so there's a lot going on, and hopefully it will be a fun week.

My TV show recording went really well on Friday, I was shitting it but I'm really happy with the results, our guests Cuba Gooding Junior and David Mitchell were fabulous and the audience were great too, standing in a hot studio for two hours watching fluff my lines is not my idea of fun , but they seemed to enjoy it . Thank you to the ever supportive Mail on Sunday for their glittering and rave review of the recording , they insinuated a third of the audience left because they were bored of the content of the show , when infact , due to it being the FIRST show we've done we ran over a little and naturally a small number of the audience had to catch the last trains back to wherever they came from . I can't imagine the " undercover journalist " who broke into the studio ever had the intention of being positive about it though , obviously .

Anyway , that was fun , I was knackered over the weekend though cause I've been working in the studio doing the album , trying to finish it by the end of the month , and then getting back and ploughing through all these books that I have to read . I decided to take up the offer of being one of the judges for "The Orange Book Prize for Fiction" , I have three more books to finish by the end of the week , having read roughly twenty already . Alfie (my little brother) is busy on tour with Equus (a play) and I wasn't expecting to see him for a while , so it was a lovely surprise when he woke me up on Sunday afternoon , I slept till two o'clock! , my mum had made a roast chicken and it was entirely pleasant spending the afternoon together , we watched the football and then he was gone , off to Glasgow for the next leg of the tour . I am so proud of him , his reviews have been brilliant and he really is fantastic on the stage . I went to see him in Chichester and I was so proud I cried , I miss you Alf . He has been such a good brother to me and I love him.

One last bit of exciting news, I have been miserable lately so I bought myself a new car. It may arrive by the end of the week so something to look forward to. Life is funny isn't it? To think that a Mac Book or a car is going to be the thing to make you feel better . Something will, soon I hope

I'll leave you with this, an advert for EDF energy, the song makes me momentarily happy, I have done some research and it turns out it was originally written for Kermit the Frog my Joe Raposo the composer for sesame street. I love it.

So i've been on holiday for the past couple of weeks , i was at a friends house in Nice and then I went to see my Dad in Cannes for a screening of his documentary " There are Dark Forces " I don't get to see him much as he's always in Hungary filming Robin Hood . I had such a nice break , lots of swimming and eating yummy french food , but now I'm back and in the studio with Mark in the countryside trying to finish off the album. I'm so close now, I just really want to get it done so I can tour again . I'm also putting the final touches to this mixtape I'm working on , sorry it's takking so long , but i'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to these things. Alfie is finishing his play Eqqus this week , he's been on tour for six months with it , I'm so proud of him it's on till saturday in Richmond so get down there if you can.

Oh yeah , the football ............... How amazing was that ? I've never seen anything like it , i watched it down here in Henley with Mark and Barry , Mark supports Chelsea and Barry didn't really care , i drank lots of rose and kept changing my mind about who I wanted to win . I felt bad for Terry and Lampard, I guess the right team won but i would have loved it if United had lost cause it would have been Ronaldo's fault and I hate Ronaldo , well I don't hate him , but after the whole winking incident I don't like him so much .
Apart from that my life is boring , just working hard .

ps . I don't really like to respond to things I read about my self in the press but , for the record I was not thrown off anybodys yacht in Cannes , occasionally I drink wine with lunch and yes i swim topless , this in my book is not embarrasing behaviour I'm 23 years old it's not my fault if photographers follow me everywhere and need a story to print with their pointless pictures . I wish digital cameras hadn't been invented , if these photographers had to pay for film it wouldn't wouldn't be worth their time , there is nothing proffesional about them , most of them look like they wouldn't be out of place at a BNP meeting . On the other hand digital pictures are easier to retouch , so i shouln't complain .
I went for lunch with my ex boyfriend yesterday , lunch . I am not some failed baby making machine desperately to trying to win my man back . Sometimes I think these journalists are still living in the 50's . No one knows anything about my relationships . Ed and I are friends , who went for lunch yesterday , thats it .
It's all so sexist , i wonder how many of these male journos , had bought themselves a house by the time they were 23. I work very hard at what i do , yes I like a drink and yes I have my bad days , but that doesn't mean I'm out of control. I'm perfectly capable of looking after my self thank you very much .
