Please press the issue

"We skip the light fandango..."

quote:Drugs. Drugs. Wit poeder om preciezer te zijn Dat is mijn idee iig als je de vertaling van de songtekst bekijkt Eng - We skipped the light fandango And turned cartwheels across the floor I was feeling kind of seasick The crowd called out for more The room was humming harder As the ceiling flew away Whe we called out for another drink The waiter brought a tray And so it was that later As the miller told his tale That her face at first just ghostly Turned a whiter shade of pale She said there is no reason And the truth is plain to see But I wandered through my playing cards Would not let her be One of sixteen vestal virgins Who were leaving for the coast At the moment my eyes were open They might just as well have been closed And so it was that later As the miller told his tale That her face at first just ghostly Turned a whiter shade of pale NL- We sloegen het lichte geflauwekul over En deden radslagen op de vloer Ik voelde me een beetje zeeziek Het publiek schreeuwde om meer De ruimte gonste harder Terwijl het plafond weg vloog Riepen we om nog een drankje De ober bracht een blad En daardoor dat later Toen de molenaar zijn verhaal vertelde Dat haar gezicht dat eerst een beetje spookachtig was Nog witter dan bleek werd Ze zei dat er geen reden is En dat de waarheid duidelijk te zien is Maar ik dwaalde door mijn speelkaarten Liet haar niet zijn Een van de zestien Vestaalse maagden Die op weg waren naar de kust Op het moment waren mijn ogen open Ze hadden net zo goed gesloten kunnen zijn En daardoor dat later Toen de molenaar zijn verhaal vertelde Dat haar gezicht dat eerst een beetje spookachtig was Nog witter dan bleek werd

There was a guy... An underwater guy who controlled all the sea... Got killed by ten million pounds of sludge... From New York and New Jersey This monkey's gone to heaven (4x) The creature in the sky, Got sucked in a hole...now there's a hole in the sky.. And the ground's not cold...and if the ground's not cold, Everything is gonna burn We'll all take turns I'll get mine, too This monkey's gone to heaven (4x) Rock me Joe! If man is 5 (3x) Then the devil is 6 (3x) The devil is 6 And if the devil is 6 Then god is 7 (3x) This monkey's gone to heaven (9x)

quote:James Blunt - Wise Men http://www.leoslyrics.com/listlyrics.php?hid=EswBTTP6j%2Bk%3D dudes... james is not singing cristianity.. he's just singing about love and stupid friends. in school james was a geek and was always always with these guys who thought they were cool, who he now sarcastically called the wise men. james like this girl, and told them, his 'friends'. these wise men were also attracted to this girl but all 3 failed to get her. hence they were upset. james was a geek and shy so he never made a move on her. so for fun and pranks they revealed to her that james was interested in her. When these wise men told the girl, lo and behold, she was actually interested in james after all and asked him to be his steady boyfriend. thats why he was wondering what the wisemen told her and felt betrayed by it. later on he realized he had the last laugh since he has the girl and those guys are now only have a semi (short for semi-trailer) by the sea. meaning, they were losers who live in a trailer by the sea. where are you now dudes..its just a simple get back for the betrayal. james got the girl and they regret it. hope this song makes sense for you people now.

quote:http://www.songmeanings.net/lyric.php?lid=15881 it's been said before, but not on this site seemingly, but this song seems to be about the ruinous effect on the environment of human pollution. Black Francis said that the inspiration for the song was a sense of anger at the destruction of the natural world, and this is clear from the lyrics... In the first verse some kind of underwater worker is killed by all the trash from N.Y and N.J being dumped in the sea. I think the line "this monkey's gone to heaven" refers to this fellow. Humans are 'monkeys' we evolved from them, and this one has died and gone to heaven. The second verse continues on a broader note, refering to the depletion of the ozone layer ("there's a hole in the sky") and the global warming consequences thereof ("everything's gonna burn...") this is everybody's problem: ("we'll all take turns") and now I think that the line about the monkey going to heaven instead refers to the singer dying due to the collapse of the earths environment. I've no idea how the final verse relates to this, although I like the interpretation given by tenniel above.

De "godfather" van vage teksten naar mij idee: Lucy in the sky with diamonds. Picture yourself in a boat on a river, With tangerine trees and marmalade skies Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly, A girl with kaleidoscope eyes. Cellophane flowers of yellow and green, Towering over your head. Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes, And she's gone. {REFRAIN} Lucy in the sky with diamonds. Lucy in the sky with diamonds. Lucy in the sky with diamonds. Ah... Ah... {VERSE 2} Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain Where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies, Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers, That grow so incredibly high. Newspaper taxis appear on the shore, Waiting to take you away. Climb in the back with your head in the clouds, And you're gone. {REFRAIN} Picture yourself on a train in a station, With plasticine porters with looking glass ties, Suddenly someone is there at the turnstyle, The girl with kaleidoscope eyes.

She Is Electric Lyrics Artist(Band):Oasis Review The Song (0) Print the Lyrics She Is Electric Lyrics MP3 Downloads Send Oasis polyphonic ringtone to your cell phone She's electric She's in a family full of eccentrics She done things I never expected And I need more time She's got a sister And god only knows how I've missed her On the palm of her hand is a blister And I need more time And I want you to know I've got my mind made up now But I need more time And I want you to say Do you know what I'm saying? But I need more .... Coz I'll be you and you'll be me There's lots and lots for us to see There's lots and lots for us to do She is electric, can I be electric too? She's got a brother We don't get on with one another But I quite fancy her mother And I think that she likes me She's got a cousin In fact she's got 'bout a dozen She's got one in the oven But it's nothing to do with me And I want you to know I've got my mind made up now But I need more time And I want you to say Do you know what I'm saying? Every Time I Die - Gloom and How it Gets that Way Pull the car over you’re frightening the kids. What did you promise us about grinning in the rear view without your fake teeth in? Keep your glass eye glued on the end of the highway up ahead of us. The collision is always licking its lips. You weren’t supposed to open the door. Just keep the plan from drifting of course. We’ll attend to the terrified first class convinced there’s a hoof print on the bow. All hail the wounded heart contingents who’ve given us something more than faultlessness to sing about. Long live the prosthetic live wires. The faulty mechanism of hope has disintegrated. Your captain nailed his feet to someone else’s ship at the sight of me. Do what your mother tells you and put down the sheriff’s horse. The choir on the black box rejoiced splendidly, singing hallelujah the king is dead. The king is dead.
