Het jaar dat niet alleen na 1958 kwam, maar ook nog eens voor 1960 kwam. Zo is er maar eentje.
In 1959 hadden The Big Bopper, Ritchie Valens en Buddy Holly het briljante idee om eens te gaan vliegen. In hetzelfde jaar verheugde moeder natuur ons met de schepping van Luc Besson, Patricia Clarkson, Vincent D'Onofrio, Val Kilmer, Anthony LaPaglia, Matthew Modine, Sami Raimi, Kevin Spacey, David Hyde Pierce , Todd Solondz, Emma Thompson, Ken Watanabe en het godsgeschenk dat we kennen als Marcia Gay Harden .
Dit topic zal dus ook een unicum worden in de FTR-tournament-geschiedenis. Het zal tegelijkertijd een tournament én een MGH-adoratie topic zijn. Schitterend idee, ik weet het.
Moeder natuur kende ook enkele zwakke momenten zoals Tom Arnold en Renny Harlin.
Maar we gingen het hier over films hebben. Films uit 1959, die mogen genomineerd en ondersteund worden, het verhaaltje is ondertussen wel bekend .

Zo. Dan volgt er nu nog een voorronde. Als verrassende twist gaan niet de 7 films met de hoogste IMDb-score automatisch naar de eerste ronde, maar wel de 7 films met de meeste stemmen, dit betekent mogelijk minder stemmen in de voorronde, maar misschien wat meer in het "echte" tournament .
