The worm sends itself out by e-mail, searches for open network shares, attempts to copy itself to unpatched or already vulnerable Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Server) Web servers, and is a virus infecting both local files and files on remote network shares.
When the worm arrives by e-mail, it uses an exploit allowing the virus to be executed just by reading or previewing the file. It will arrive with an attachment of SAMPLE.EXE, although it may not be visible. You should immediately change your Outlook In-box settings to disable the Preview Pane setting in the View menu to prevent this compromise and exercise extreme caution opening mail from suspect sources.
If you visit a compromised Web server, you will be prompted to download an .eml (Outlook Express) e-mail file, which contains the worm as an attachment. You should immediately disable "File Download" in your Internet Explorer Internet security zones to prevent this compromise, and exercise extreme caution visiting Web sites that are not familiar to, and trusted by, you.
Also, the worm will create open network shares on the infected computer, allowing access to the system. During this process the worm creates the guest account with Administrator privileges. You should review the shares on your workstation -- restricting them to only those individuals who need access, and review Administrator accounts to ensure that they have passwords assigned to them.

elke dag komt er wel een of ander nieuw virus bij, wat nog erger is dan de vorige.
