In merito alla gara d'andata della finale di Coppa Italia tra Roma e Inter, il giudice sportivo ha comminato al club nerazzurro una ammenda di 30.000 euro "per avere un suo sostenitore, presente nel settore 'distinti', lanciato con apposita pistola nei minuti immediatamente precedenti l'inizio della gara tre razzi -si legge nel comunicato della Lega Calcio- per avere i suoi sostenitori realizzato condotta aggressiva nei confronti delle Forze dell'Ordine quando queste stavano procedendo all'arresto del tifoso responsabile del sopra citato lancio di razzi. Per i giallorossi invece 6.000 euro di ammenda.
Dunque, nonostante le freschissime decisioni assunte da Franco Carraro in collaborazione con il ministero degli Interni per arginare il fenomeno della violenza dentro e fuori gli stadi, che prevedono la sconfitta 0-3 a tavolino per la squadra la cui tifoseria si rende protagonista di lanci di bengala, razzi, petardi e quant'altro, l'Inter se l'č cavata con un'ammenda, pesante dal punto di vista economico ma per nulla attinente alle ultime disposizioni. Cosa dire? Due pesi e due misure...!

West Bromwich Albion are keen to recruit Gabriel Batistuta as a Coach. The former Fiorentina striker quit football in March after a spell in Qatar and a move to the Baggies could be on the cards. "I had a phone call from an agent saying Batistuta would be interested in working with me and my staff because he wants to be a Coach," Albion boss Bryan Robson said. "I don't know whether it was truthful or whether the agent was just fishing. But if he does genuinely want to come in during pre-season training to have a look at the way we train and have a bit of an input with the strikers, I would certainly look at that. He could be a very good Coach because of the talent he had, his reputation as a player, skill and knowledge of the game."

Furious Parma rage at Ref

Parma director general Luca Baraldi has been critical of referees this term and was further infuriated by the three penalty appeals that were rejected in their play-off defeat.

“It isn’t easy to referee these types of games, even though Stefano Farina made some evaluations which were contrary to our view and presumably the view of everyone in the Stadium,” he said after Bologna’s 1-0 relegation play-off win at the Tardini. “We’ve been on the end of incorrect decisions for a year now and the fans have had enough.”

The players also let the emotion of the occasion get the better of them and a brawl broke out in stoppages, leading to red cards for Christian Amoroso, Luca Bucci and both Coaches.

“The tension was extraordinary and these teams have played 39 games this season in Serie A alone, so it is understandable, even if these incidents should not happen,” noted Baraldi. “The responsibility must be shared by both Parma and Bologna.”

The result puts Bologna in pole position, but Alberto Gilardino, Domenico Morfeo, Daniele Bonera and Matteo Contini are among the players returning for the second leg on Saturday evening.

“The biggest regret was playing without six suspended stars,” added the Gialloblu director. “At least we discovered by this performance that we have the opportunity to beat Bologna at the Dall’Ara and we’ll have more of the squad at our disposal.”

Bologna are holding a Press blackout to best prepare for this relegation play-off, but director and former player Giancarlo Marocchi commented on their 1-0 win.

“If we had been able to score two goals then it would’ve been more secure, but one is not enough, although this clearly is not a bad result. It’s just half-time in this tie and we have four days to recover our energy.”

Bologna’s biggest worry is represented by top scorer Gilardino, though ex-Juve midfielder Marocchi pinpoints another problem.

“We’ll have to try to close down Morfeo and that way stop the supply line to Gilardino, as the two of them can be deadly.”

Nobody could avoid mentioning the brawl which concluded the match, as two players and both Coaches were dismissed from the bench.

“At times a player can be particularly tense and, even if provoked, we should’ve kept our cool. It’s a shame to end the game like this.”
