I really stumbled onto this movie and had never heard of it. It was crazy and if I hadn't researched it online I would have never believed it. was way sexier than the real . Also, the constant portrayal of drug use got a little old. This movie is like porn for drug addicts! I liked the movie over all though. I think this is the best role I have ever seen play. Very real and deep. I missed the connection with his wife and his girlfriend but I thought the part with playing the do-gooder was funny. I also actually like in this movie. I have not liked any of the other roles he has played but I felt this one was more gritty, and spastic. This is definitely not a movie for the average viewer, but worth the ride

I did enjoy the movie, because it did provide some insight into the events, but I was expecting more out of the performances. I was surprised they picked to play , doesnt look much like him, and they didnt develop his character well, you just accepted him as addict, and he didnt develop from there, you never got the insight, oh well. I think was the only good character(though I didnt want her to be, cause I dislike ) but she did put some heart and emotion behind

could have been a very boring movie but, with the treatment it was given it is more eye-candy than substance in a satisfying way. The artsy visuals and inventive ways the makers of this film move the story along were unexpected and creatively pleasing. Look for such things as the backdrop to some of the scenes is the schedule of the TV guide from that period… very creative. I have to disagree with some other reviewers that felt this was not the way to present this story. I think this would have been yet another `just say no' movie if not given this twist. The story it's self has the potential to fill about half an hour otherwise. At least this way we are entertained visually while waiting for the story to unfold. All in all I enjoyed this film and hope others will see the art here as well.
Also, being that I grew up durring the 80's, kudos must be given to the detail in clothes, sets, props... check the big clunky cell phone. Cool stuff, dude.

Tjis could have been an interesting movie about the life of a famous porn star. You know, his motivations, family life etc. I guess it was sort of but my focussing on the one incident in his life it becomes just another murder story that could be about anyone. The fashions and lifestyles scream 70's even though the film is set in 1981.
