was warschau nog wat? ga er van de zomer (eind juni) weer heen, en vorige keer beviel het me perfect. Ben in vrijwel alle plaatsen geweest waar je deze trip langs bent geweest (met uitzondering van Poznan) en Wroclaw en Warschau waren imho toch wel de toppertjes.
Heb je toevallig nog wat goeie clubs bezocht in warschau? ben namelijk op zoek naar wat informatie mbt uitgaan aldaar

Sorry, kroegtijger, ik houd helemáál niet van uitgaan. Warschau vond ik zelf niks. Verslag komt nog, maar ik vind het een sfeerloze, veel te commerciële stad. Poznan is véél mooier en gezelliger.
Wij zijn zelf via een nachtje Dreesden naar Krakow gegaan, waar we een week zijn gebleven. Heerlijke clubs daar!! Daarna wilden we weer eens iets nieuws maar we hadden geen flauw idee waar we heen moesten. Gelukkig bracht de (lekkere) serveerster van het terras waar we zaten uitkomst, ze zette 7 heerlijk glazen zyvic bier voor ons neer, dus besloten we maar om naar zyvic te gaan, waar we uiteindelijk ook nog een week gebleven zijn. De meest heerschende vakantie ooit!! Leven als een koning en geen drol uitgeven

Wednesday, May 4, Emów near Warsaw
We spent most of the day driving. Last night we drove about 50 kilometers (30 miles) from Oswiecim in the direction of Warsaw. Great hotel: all new, clean and great value (about $ 12.00 per person). Drunk men were included in the price.
We started off early this morning for Warsaw. Our goal was a ranch about 30 kilometers (18 miles) below Warsaw. It took us a while to find it, as it was hidden in the woods. It's a great place. Everything here is handmade of local wood. The buildings, the furniture, the horse stables... Lots of animals around: about 20 horses, 5 dogs, 2 chinchillas, peacocks. There's one very old horse with a horrible deformity on its leg. It looked so bad that it hurt me to even look at it. Poor creature, it should have been put down a long time ago, it can hardly walk.
The owners and personnel of the hotel don't speak a word of English (or French or German), so we have to use our hands and feet and a few words of Polish and Italian. I ate fish today, as they did not have anything vegetarian on the menu (hell, they didn't even know what the Polish word for vegetarian meant!). I ate trout and the rest of the company was very delighted (not!) to be served a traditional Polish delicacy: cow's tongue. Our hosts had no other guests and they cooked the meal especially for us, so they could not afford to not eat it. They informed me that it didn't taste bad but that they'd never eat it again.
After dinner we watched some Polish TV. It was pretty funny, because we soon found out that instead of using subtitles or dubbing, the Polish just use simultaneous translation for foreign movies. One voice translates the words of all the actors, in a very monotonous voice. Great fun to watch.

We left the ranch in Emów early to go to Warsaw to spend the day there. My dad went for a stroll around the city and the ladies of course went shopping. I didn't buy much, just two skirts.
Warsaw is the capital of Poland and it's pretty big. It's also quite modern, as 85% of the buildings was destroyed in World War II. 700,000 people were killed.
We had decided not to have dinner at the ranch again and we drove back to Emów looking for a restaurant. There were none to be found, except for a pizza parlor in Emów itself. So we had pizza and it was fine, as pizza always is.
We left the ranch in Emów early to go to Warsaw to spend the day there. My dad went for a stroll around the city and the ladies of course went shopping. I didn't buy much, just two skirts.

We started off from Emów only to get stuck in traffic. After driving very slowly for about 1.5 hours, we found out the cause of the delay. A clash between a motor car and a scooter. It looked like the scooterist did not survive.
We arrived in Poznan late in the afternoon. We soon found the Wielkopolska hotel to be suitable. Cheap and close to the center. The city itself was a pleasant surprise. It had a gorgeous rynek (market square). All the buildings were painted in beautiful colors and the place wasn't as tourist-ridden as the center of Warsaw with all its souvenir shops. Close to the rynek there was a gorgeous Catholic parish church. It's the best I've ever seen after St. Peter's in Rome. Lots of marble (black marble too!), beautiful ceiling paintings and gorgeous ornaments and statues. They were in the middle of renovating it, which was much needed.
On the way to the center we'd seen a nice restaurant and we went there for dinner. We had the place all to ourselves the first hour we sat there. They did not offer any vegetarian dishes and I ordered duck.
We all drank too much and my dad ended up imitating the Pope on his hotel balcony. He'd put a bed sheet around him and was waving to the "masses" outside.
I bought some sheepskins and a llama-skin. They sell those everywhere here in Poland at very low prices (about $ 20.00 each). I want to use them as rugs for the dogs.

The drive from Poznan to Hamburg was a long one and it took us most of the day. The hotel in Hamburg was not close to the center, so we drove to the center and parked in an indoor parking place.
Our goal was the Reeperbahn, the famous "sex street" in Hamburg. It is a large area full of night clubs, nudy bars, hookers and sex shops. We paid a visit to the biggest and most beautiful sex shop in the area, the Boutique Bizarre. I loved the place. It was huge, it had two floors and they had everything you could possibly imagine. From sex dolls to dildos and from beautiful corsets to fetish clothing. I could've spent hours there. It was pretty funny to visit a sex shop with my mom and dad, but all of us got used to it after five minutes and before we knew it we were pointing out sex toys to one another. Esther had never been to a sex shop and she was a bit shocked. Especially the huge dildos and butt plugs almost made her eyes roll out of their sockets. I got myself a little present and I would have bought more if I hadn't spent my money on sheepskins the day before.
We had dinner in a café we found on the way back to the hotel. When I went to the bathroom, Esther ordered me a "Sex on the Beach" cocktail. I got a bit drunk, as it was a huge cocktail. It also made me have to go pee every five minutes.
It took us a while to find the hotel again, but when we did I went straight to bed. It's interesting to not that this one hotel in Hamburg cost us as much as a week of hotels in Poland.

tsja, maar neem het maar niet te nauw hoor.... in polen auto rijden is heel...erm...creatief Geef gewoon je eigen invulling aan wat verstandig is om te doen, en doe daar een klein beetje onverantwoord rijgedrag bij en je hebt een poolse rijstijl....

In mijn Wegenatlas van Europa is Berlijn-Grens snelweg, dan de eerste 60 kilometer (ongeveer) na de grens niet en dan weer wel tot een slordige 50 km voor Katowice, en dan het laatste stuk Katowice-Krakow weer snelweg.
Ben benieuwd wat er van klopt

Dat komt wel redelijk overeen met de laatste keer dat ik in die hoek was (vorig jaar) maar dat zegt ook niet alles natuurlijk..misschien is de tolweg ondertussen al wel klaar op die resterende 50 km. Als je met een DKV-pasje je tolwegen wilt betalen (mocht je die hebben) zorg dan dat je je auto-papieren bij de hand hebt... daar willen ze in polen nog wel eens om vragen omdat ze normaal alleen vrachtwagens met DKV-tankpasjes zienquote:Op maandag 25 juli 2005 16:25 schreef JDude het volgende:
