As the commanding officer of the SG-1 team, Colonel O'Neill's assignment is to defend Earth from possible hostile invasion, and to explore new worlds and return new technologies to Earth for study and further development.


Doctor Daniel Jackson
Civilian Advisor Joint Forces, Unit SGC
Team Member SG-1
Dr. Jackson joined the SG-1 team on a voluntary basis to study the cultures of other planets. He holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology as well as a Ph.D. in Linguistics, and has prior experience with the culture of Abydos. He is an expert in ancient cultures and languages.


Major Samantha Carter
Active Duty Joint Forces, Unit SGC
Team Member SG-1
Captain Samantha Carter was promoted to Major in 1999. Her assignment is to ascertain possible hostile threats, to continue analysis of stargate technology, and to analyze and return materials, technologies and knowledge for further development.


Teal'c
Civilian Member Joint Forces, Unit SGC
Team Member SG-1
Teal'c had served as the First Prime of Apophis, but after aiding the SG-1 team during their first mission to Chulak, he left his family and culture behind and returned to Earth as a voluntary member of the SG-1 team.

en dan sturen ze dus gewoonlijk Special forces al is dat in de serie ander's maar niet somaar een teampje diensplichtigen.

Dus geen wizkid's alleen maar zeker ook expertise op het strijd vlak.

SG team bestaan bij expiditie missies uit archiloog engineer en aangevult met soldaatjes waarbij de hoogste rang soldaat de leider is.

Natuurlijk als de archiloog of engineer gaan tech blaten dan snappen de soldaten er niks van.
Is hun vak gebied ook niet.
Maar howee als stront aan de knikker is en er dreiging is dan weet je dat ze heel belangrijk zijn en waarom ze ook de leiding hebben.

Alleen zijn er heel veel scenes waar O'Neill blijk geeft dat ie vooral niks snapt van dat technisch geleuter dan komt ie door al die scenes er sowieso dommer over.

Dat houd niet in dat de karakter dom is hij laat het te pas en te onpas doorschemeren als ie iets niet snapt wat sowieso niet in zijn straatje thuis hoort.
Dat gebeurt best wel vaak wat sommige irritant vinden.
Maar zijn expertise is leiderschap en combat.

valt het jullie ook op dat o'neill de laatste paar eps veel in action is?
Alsof ie afscheid wil nemen in stijl ofzo gewoon zoals hij bekend is, met een mp50 in handen en zn militair pakje
