The game I played was a test version. The TS2 helper said that Maxis is still tweaking the game.

I spent most of my time in building the sims and homes. When creating sims family links, you drag their face icon over the others and then define their relationship. I know this was in the simzone.de, but it was in English!

When you change their clothes, they get all excited and admire themselves.
![]()
Shoes and trousers are
not seperate. You can choose tops, bottoms(with shoes included
![]()
) or you can choose a complete set of clothes (example: the black and white skirt and shirt the one blond twin was wearing in a screenshot from a million years ago)
![]()
They have a set of underwear that is not what they wear to sleep.
![]()
Very limited workout wear.
![]()
If you leave your sim standing they get bored and make faces.
![]()
All the make-up you can put on girls you can put on boys, but no facial hair for girls :grumpy:
![]()
You cannot dress in clothes that are not your age: Example: Elderly sims can't wear what the teens wear.
![]()
While you are creating them you can zoom in and spin them around to admire your work (way more than 4 angles, you can look at every detail)

there was no sound so I can't tell you what that was like, and*jumping up and down and getting excited* you can choose your background music when ever you want to change it, not the same old songs over and over and over....

For neighborhoods, you know the screen shots where there is a little picture of different family photos and info on the neighborhood? You can make those. This was new for me because I thought it was just a premade thing part of the game.

There's lots of stuff to put on the land in the neighborhood, like fields of flowers and clouds and other stuff(too much to remember)
![]()
In the neighborhood and the lots you can zoom in and out smoothly with your mouse wheel, AND if you hold the wheel down and move your mouse around it will rotate at all angles! In build mode there is a button you can press to get a bird's eye view that looks straight down at your house.

When you put lights on the wall they dissapear when you remove the walls: No more looking through a bunch of lights in your house!!
![]()
There is a button for individual categories like before: Electronic, decorative etc. But there is a seperate button for sorting rooms: kitchen, bathroom. No big deal but no more double clicking the one icon. There are also theme folders like classic, modern etc. to help you decorate you home with a certain style (I know it's on simszone.de but again it's in English!)

You can still build flat on the ground if you like, the screenshots don't really show it. You can't build floating floors either like you can in Sims 1, they have to be supported.
![]()
The eye-dropper is really cool you can pic objects with it and no more sorting through stuff to find the original.
![]()
Floor and wall covers have lots of different categories for what ever you need.

The bottom panel takes stuff from the first and makes it better. IE: One button to press to get all the wall options like up, down, partial and roof.
I checked out the aspirations: when you create your sim it shows you the goals you will want to achieve if you pic that aspiration. I thought it was funny that the popularity one had a goal of winning a fight, and the family one was to eventually have grandchildren.
 You know the little purple heart with the funny face that is sometimes on a sims face in aspirations? The memories of the sim I played (yes they save them and you can click on them to remind you) it said the purple heart meant they did "Woo hoo" with someone. I'm fairly certain it's the "playing" feature. Another cool thing in this mode is it tells you what rewards you get for achieving certain goals.

Very Important!!! The points you earn for achieving aspirations gets you special objects. It said that these objects can have negative side effects if the sims use it when their aspiration level is not on gold. Some of the objects I saw: money tree, smart milk (Yes, give it to you toddlers and children and they will learn to walk, talk, and be potty trained among other things) There is also a thinking cap, I saw it in a screen shot with a blond family, sitting on a table. Its a black hat with a light bulb on top. I didn't get to find out what happens if you use these things when you are not "in the gold". I think there was a vaccum that could suck the aspirations of others and give them to you, and there was a water cooler thing that if you drink from it, you won't age!
Whew!

Sorry this is so long, I'm tired of typing so I'll just see what questions I can answer other than what is up here.
The jobs tracks are: medical, slacker, science, business, law, military and I can't remember the rest.
