Dit is een plaat waarvan je bij aanschaf helemaal door het dak gaat. Lekker moeilijk, lekker laten groeien, niemand die je snapt en jij geniet ervan! Maar dan blijkt die plaat 7 jaar na dato al niet meer zo tijdloos als je dacht. De klaagzang van Yorke gaat soms tegen staan en blijft slechts overeind in compositorische juweeltjes als Exit Music, Karma Police, Let Down, Lucky en No Surprises. Paranoid Android is na 50 x niet spannend meer en dus moet je concluderen dat de plaat enigszins overschat is, maar nog altijd goed genoemd mag worden.

The sexual lyrics and voodoo rhythm of James Brown's "Sex Machine" illustrate only one small aspect of how the United States has earned the well-deserved title of "The Great Satan".

Brown croons, "Get up, get on up, like a sex machine!"
His freedom of expression is a God-given right but with any right goes the equally important but rarely expressed specter of having a God-oriented RESPONSIBILITY to choose wisely in thought, word and deed. Woe to any who cause others to stumble.

Now, let's get this straight, is James Brown's singing about a "sex machine" the result of the Gospel upbringing that he had, or more of an influence from the "free love" era of the 1960s and Brown's own fleshly lusts and pride working in conjunction with the record-buying public's vices?

My friend, I assure you, freedom isn't free and never has been. To believe that the '60s and '70s brought in "free" love or anything better than camel spit is a lie straight out of the fire and brimstone pits of eternally burning Hell. Leftist liberals in politics, education, media and entertainment have long assaulted godly values. In their evil efforts to usher in the New World Order ("Novus Ordo Seclorum", see the back of any U.S. dollar bill), the liberals have trampled on the rights we all have for pure, clean, decency.

"Sex Machine" is a profound illustration of how Satan through his liberal henchmen attempts to enslave us to sin, diverting us from the truth and what is truly important while brainwashing us into a self-focus through diverse means of propaganda.

Examine the nine planks of the Humanist Manifesto, or the ten planks of Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto and see if these liberal precepts seem to be "present" in our society and government today. Notice how, over your lifetime, a socio-cultural sexual focus has been prevalent and increasing daily, courtesy of the leftists in politics, education, the media and entertainment.

John Dewey, father of modern education, in 1933 co-authored the Humanist Manifesto. It confidently asserts:
1. Man evolved by chance
2. Man created god
3. Man is his own authority
4. There are no absolutes (was he absolutely sure?)

We must return to our Godly roots, first by repenting from our sins, getting on our knees before the Lord Jesus Christ and asking His forgiveness. Then, powered by the Holy Spirit, we must rise, we must get on up, to serve our God.

Yo playaz, whut is up?? A friend of mine knows I love Clay Aiken and Justin Timberlake, so he said for moor pretty singing to check out this album by the Beech Bums called "Pet Sounds". I thought it wouyld include wicked Linkin Park meets Staind guitar madness mixed with pretty Clay Aiken meets Justin Timberlake singing mixed wqith silly pet sounds for good measure, as the titles promised!! Wow, to say I wuz let down wood be a huge under statement!! The music couldn't have been more boring, slow, corporate, with horrible background harmonies that sound like they were done by drunken Sorority Sisters after a night of wicked partying!!!! "Wouldn't It Be Nice" if this didn't exist!! After much media hype and speculation, Da Beetles finally give us their debut album and its rightfully titled "1" since it is their first!! Wow, they give us 27 toons hear while most others bands only put 10-14 on a disc!! There are some funny sing along tunes here like "She Loves You", "I Want To Hold Your Man" and the cute pop ditty "Penny Lane". All of these songs would also be good on children's progrmming shows to get them familiar with the English language and rhyming since their so catchy and downright cute!! I did have to deduct starz cuz some of the later tunes like "Come Together", "Starwberry Fields Forever" and "Revolution" are weird, noisy and sound like they were recorded on bad acid trips, and that kind of thing is not good for the young minds of our world!! So just stick with the first half of the album, and also check out good talent like Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, Oasis, Weezer, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park and Puddle Of Mudd, cuz kids like em also and they helped shape the many sounds these beetle bugg guys display on their debut!! First of all, the production is very bad, the guitars sound wimpy and out of tune, the bass player is sloppy and the drummer has no real groove!! Worst of all, the singa has a high pitched and whiny voice!! its like he's doing a cheesy imitation of System Of A Down's singa!! Plus the lyrics are about cheesy political scandals and govenment business stuff that no one in my crowd cares about!! if these fellas were to play on the Warped toor or Ozzfest, we wood boo at them is disapproval!! Ya'll need to support tRU punk and metal acts such as the MIGHTY Good Charlotte, Blink 182, Green Day, Fenix TX, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Staind, Sum 41, SR-71, Trapt, Smile Empty Soul and the highly talented newcomer, Clay Aiken!!!! Seriously, though, there are two really good tracks here: "Da Funk" and "Around the World." But if you want them you'd be advised to get them as singles or as part of other collections. On the soundtrack for The Saint, for instance, you not only get "Da Funk" but Orbital's "The Saint," Moby's "Oil," Sneaker Pimps' "6 Underground," and Underworld's "Pearl's Girl." That lineup right there makes it ten times the CD that this one is.

Aside from tracks 4 and 7, this CD is a colossal waste: a waste of Daft Punk's time to write, perform, produce, and mix, a waste of blank CDs and Third World labor to press, and a waste of your time should you have the misfortune to come into possession of a copy and attempt to actually listen to it. Trust me, you'll get more enjoyment using it for a Frisbee or a coaster.

Why did these two think a CD with 14 tracks of monotonous, treble-free beats could possibly be of interest to anyone? We may never know. Orbital had released their fourth LP a year before this came out, so it's not like Daft Punk has the excuse of being "pioneers." The fact that this CD continues to enjoy popular notoriety only confirms theories that mainstream consumers really aren't all that smart.

I can tolerate stoner Neil Young sometimes drifting off at the microphone, as he does on many of the sleepy songs on this half-baked record. What I can't tolerate, however, is him ripping off the line that Def Leppard made famous: "It's better to burn out than fade away." That's just not cool, and it shows this hippie really isn't all that original, when one gets right down to it.
Nonetheless, his acoustic song dedicated to the Ramone's deceased Johnny Rotten at the start of the album is rather poignant, and the song does deserve its "classic-rock" status, despite the fact that Leppard did the lines better on the song "Photograph" from 1992.

The way Springsteen tries to play up his Jersey roots reeks of emulation of what Jovi was doing fifteen years ago, in the '80s. Also, this guy's singing style is exactly like Jovi's, as is his pub-rock sound. Little advice, Bruce: Leave the making of true Jersey hard rock to Metal Masters like Jovi.
On a fair note, though, this guy has a John Cougar Mellencamp aura in his music that does resonate. He writes good tunes for the workin' man, and that's something to be admired!! Still, it's best to stick with more sincere rock that works: Jovi, Matchbox 20, and Sugar Ray.

Well, I bought this thinking it was the Foo Fighters latest CD called "Probot." Boy, I sure was a dunderhead. This is nothing like the Foo Fighters. In fact, this CD is not really like anything I've ever heard at all. Only later did I learn that Dave Grohl wrote all these songs and recruited lots of old metal guys to sing the tracks - not a real smart move on his part. I just found this CD to be too loud and abrasive, far from the metal sheen that I've grown accustomed to with the Foo Fighters. Also, I don't know why Grohl chose a bunch of no-name singers that people could care less about. Lemmy from Motorhead? Motorhead weren't popular at all! And King Diomand? My understanding is that they worshipped a dark force, which sounds frightening to me. Grohl should have grabbed truly talented singers like Bon Jovi, Kip Winger, Joe Elliott, the guy from AC/DC, and Vince Neil. Those are the guys who truly made a dent in '80s metal.
Overall, I've just lost a lot of respect for Dave Grohl. Even his last Foo Fighters effort wasn't all that great. It's like he just went tone deaf on this one and phoned everything in from his mansion in Seattle. Here's hoping the next one will be better.

Save your money, cuz Probot is pretty weak.

Wie oud genoeg is om de beginjaren van Pearl Jam te hebben meegemaakt, kan het verschil tussen echt en nep wel vaststellen. Wie daarvoor niet oud genoeg is, heeft nog altijd de keuze uit tientallen betere grunge-nageboorten dan de Haagse pseudo-alternativo's Kane. Op het tweede album So Glad You Made It is de koers opzichtig gewijzigd en kun je de naam Pearl Jam vervangen door U2. Zanger Dinand Woesthoff heeft de techniek van de ene grote rockzanger (Eddie Vedder) ingewisseld voor die van de ander (Bono), maar blijft even hinderlijk: als hij gevoelig wil fluisteren, vervalt hij tot een amechtig gestamel. Als hij aanzwelt, lijkt hij wel René Froger. ()

Een enkel nummer valt nog wel te pruimen, maar als het zogenaamd gevoelig wordt, haakt iedereen met een beetje smaak af. "Let It Be" (geen beatles-cover) en "Mother" zijn nog erger dan de titels doen vrezen. In "What If" volgt een pretentieuze geluidscollage. Het is wel zeker dat "So Glad You Made It" een succes wordt en het is ook wel zeker dat pleitbezorgers de verkoopcijfers als het gelijk van Kane zullen opvoeren. Dat is zowel een waarheid als een koe als een drogreden, die gemakkelijk voorbij gaat aan het feit dat dit soort rockgroepjes de popmuziek verzieken.
