If had never made any other film, [.........] would have secured [..........] place in movie history with It is the perfect feature. The cutaway to reaction as confesses the whole complicated scheme to their wives is quite possibly the single funniest shot in the history of the motion picture. If you've never seen a feature, this is the one to see. was a comic genius. was probably the funniest man to ever step in front of a movie camera. This film epitomizes "classic comedy".

There may be spoilers in here so please be aware. This is a must see for anyone. The gags just flow from the off, and are superb as 2 blokes who decide on going away for a lads weekend. They have to make a story up though as 's wife is not too keen on him going especially as she wantsto go away with him herself. concocts a plan that has to accompany him to for his nerves [..........] , The wives get wind of the scheme and play along with it even when come home and still try to make out they haven't been away for a mad weekend.

Everything goes great. and go to the convention and have a great time. meets his brother in-law, , but he didn't know that was his brother in-law. Their plan had worked. What they didn't count on was a liner had sunk. They find out when they get home, and they see the wives coming! So they bolt up to the attic. They decide to stay there the night. says they'll set up a bed and be just as comfortable as two peas in a pod. But what they didn't count on was a storm. Lightning stuck them and made such a racket, that 's wife, , came up to the attic to check it out, shotgun in hand. and got on the roof. decided they'll climb down the drain pipe, put their clothes on in the garage and go to a hotel. declines but threatens to tell his wife he caught him smoking otherwise. A nervous decided that they would climb down the garage, put their clothes on in the drain pipe and go to a hotel and be just as comfortable as two peas in a PO-DUH. What they didn't count on was a cop spotting them. gave them away so they went to 's house. told the wives about the horrible shipwreck and how they "shiphiked" to get home, but forced the truth out of . The left while began taking pots and pans out. When returned, poor was getting things thrown at him. reports that said, "honesty is the best politics". This is my favorite movie.
A good idea. So if you can find it, this film comes recommended.
