MILAAN - De Italiaanse international Gennaro Gattuso voetbalt ook de komende drie jaar bij AC Milan. De middenvelder maakte een einde aan de geruchten rond een nakend vertrek bij de Italiaanse topclub.

"Ho fatto leva sui sentimenti, perchè comunque sono quelli che contraddistinguono il Milan. Abbiamo voluto ci fosse anche Carlo Ancelotti con noi perchè era giusto parlare delle problematiche anche in sua presenza.

Il 19 maggio è una giornata molto importante perchè da qui si riparte per creare il nuovo Milan, un Milan vincente già dalla prossima stagione. Non a caso, più tardi, faremo il punto della situazione con il mister stesso per creare un Milan molto competitivo. Gattuso breekt pols bij struikelpartij in dug-out

Blessureleed achtervolgt de Italiaanse ploeg. De naam Gennaro Gattuso is na een bizar pechgeval aan de blessurelijst toegevoegd.

Gattuso trapte een balletje mee in een wedstrijdje van de Squadra Azzurra tegen een team van werkloze spelers. Het noodlot sloeg toe toen de middenvelder van AC Milan de dug-out opzocht. Hij struikelde, stootte zijn hoofd en brak bij de val zijn linkerpols.

Een operatie bleek onvermijdelijk, zodat Gattuso zich voorlopig zal moeten richten op zijn herstel. De WK-kwalificatiewedstrijd tegen Georgië gaat sowieso aan de middenvelder voorbij.

Ook Fabio Grosso en Alessandro Gamberini zijn woensdag niet van de partij. Het tweetal raakte zaterdag geblesseerd bij een ongelukkige botsing in het duel met Cyprus. Grosso brak twee ribben, terwijl bij Gamberini de schouder uit de kom vloog. Bondscoach Marcello Lippi heeft één vervanger opgeroepen.
