Plot Outline: Two years after Cloud & Co. saved the world from Sephiroth, the citizens of the planet begin suffering from a strange sickness called Seikon-Shoukougun. Meanwhile, Cloud has secluded himself, and is being haunted by demons in his past. (more)
This is the movie Square should've made first. I think it would have been much more successful (and profitable) than "The Spirits Within". The Spirits Within used unfamiliar, boring characters in a post-apocalyptic futuristic world. While it was certainly good eye candy, it didn't really feel like Final Fantasy or have a memorable storyline. Advent Children however, looks to be a step in the right direction in terms of a cinematic Final Fantasy. Even more impressive is that Nobuo Uematsu is involved with the music, something that was sorely missing from Spirits Within, which used an American composer. Hopefully if this formula is successful we will see cinematic versions of other Final Fantasy games, particularly FF6, which has the best characters/music/story of any game in the series.
