16:45 Ubi Soft has just announced that two of its biggest games, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Beyond Good & Evil, will be exclusive to PS2 in 2003 in all PAL territories.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was one of the surprise showstoppers at E3 this year, wowing journalists with its refreshing gameplay and astonishing visuals. Beyond Good & Evil, coming from the brain of Rayman creator Michel Ancel, is also showing great promise.
Commenting on both games' PS2-exclusivity for 2003, Alain Corre, managing director for Europe, Asia Pacific and South America, Ubi Soft said: "Both these games uniquely showcase the fun of PlayStation 2 gaming.
"Following their enthusiastic reception at E3, there is already great consumer excitement building in anticipation of the launch of these exclusive PlayStation 2 games.
David Patton, vice president of marketing at SCEE, was equally enthused: "We welcome Ubi Soft's decision to publish Prince of Persia and Beyond Good and Evil exclusively on PlayStation 2 during 2003.
"These games set new standards in console gaming and undoubtedly will broaden the appeal of PlayStation to new audiences," he said.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Beyond Good & Evil on PS2 are due in November. It's expected that both games will appear on PC, GameCube and Xbox somewhere in 2004.
