Opening: Kiefer, dressed in a white, unbuttoned polo shirt with a black blazer over it appears in front of a black screen with a green backlight swirling about.

Hello, my name is Kiefer Sutherland. It is with great honor that I present to you this exclusive look into the next season of 24 , made possible by Ford and the next F-150. (12 second mark).

Title Card: Jack Bauer Lives on the Edge. It is sporadically interrupted with flickers of red along the edges of the screen.

Camera focuses on Jack, who is backlit by sunlight (either rising or setting). The camera closes tighter onto his face. Camera shutter is heard as image clicks to black and white and freezes on Jack. Repeat, as Jack turns his head to look over his shoulder.

Title Card: Danger is in his Blood. Repeat flickering red.

Camera shutter of Jack, badge around his neck, walking down a hall with a man that has a goatee and a button down shirt. Picture is in black and white. Another flash as a picture of Jack with sunglasses on is seen. 3 men are in the background, and it looks as though he is taking something from another man. The exchange is obscured in bright light, though. This is followed by the picture of a car. Finally, a picture of Jack with gun drawn, pointing at an unseen target. (24 second markHmmm)

Thumping sounds are heard of someone knocking on a door. Chase closes a glass door and turns, cut to jack shuffling through papers, looking annoyed and agitated. He is quite clearly sweating. Dialogue:

Chase: You know Jack, you look like hell.
Jack: What did you just say to me?
Chase: Whether or not youre protocol(?) I need to know if youre up for it or not.
Jack: I like working with you, Chase, youre a nice kid. But dont you ever come into my office and talk to me like that again. Do you understand me?
Chase: Im just sayin youre on edge. Id take a bullet for you if I had to. But right now Im going to hold the mirror up. You were under with Salazar for 6 months. I know what they did to you. (Stills flash of Jack with various facial expressions flash on the screen.) And I know what you did to yourself. Its not gonna go away over night. Today is not the day to try to prove that youre alright. (Camera pans to Jack, who runs his sleeve across his nose and sniffs.)
Jack: You mind your own business.

Camera flashes of Chase leaving Jacks office, Kim looking concerned (with her stylish new coif), Jack looking pensively at the camera, gunfire between a man running and the back of someones head.

Title Card: Kiefer Sutherland.
VO: Kiefer Sutherland, (cut to Jack and Chase walking down the cell block in a correctional facility) in one of the most critically acclaimed series on television. Cut to Jacks hand on an identification pad, it scanning and a computer checking him in.

Kiefer VO: I didnt lose (cut to Jack putting on a name tag in the prison) a year of my life to arrest some drug dealer. CU of Jack as he continues, Salazar does business with terror cells around the world. Bringing him down is our only objective. Are we clear?

Cut to Chase. Salazar VO as Jack comes into the shot, I was concerned about you, Jack. (Cut to Salazar, who walks toward the camera.) The things you did to get me here (cut to the side of Jacks face) I wouldnt wish on anyone. (Cuts back to Salazar) Lets face it, youll never be the same. (Cut to Jack looking pissed) Im about to name names, Jack. (Cut to Chase looking concerned) That makes me happy. (Cut to Salazar writing something on a sheet of paper) Because, you see, we are connected. He looks at Jack after writing.

Jack: Son of a bitch. Open the door!
Salazar: (turning) Its on you, Jack. (Cut to Jack looking concerned). What happens next is on you.

Cut to Jack and Chase on the street, turning away from an ambulance, then to President Palmer, then the man from the earlier gun fight being shot. Jack rounds the corner wielding his gun.

Title Card: This Fall.
VO: This Fall, (cut to Jack and Chase leaving the prison)
Title Card: Things are getting personal
VO: Things are getting personal.

Chase: (looking up at someone) Not only do I work for him, Im also a field agent. (Cut to a later scene of Jack and Chase dressed the same as in the ambulance shot, then Chase with Kims head in her hands as they kiss.) Thats the last thing he wants for his daughter.
Kim: (in frame) How do you know that?
Chase: He talks (cut to Jack in a car) about things (back to Chase). How he wasnt there for you, or your mom.

Kim: (to Jack) Look dad, (cut to Jack looking a little sheepish) I find it difficult keeping things from you.
Jack: Yeah, whats up?
Kim: (cut to Chase and Kim looking longingly at one another) Chase and I have been going out for awhile. (Cut to Jack looking nervous.)

Title Card & VO: And as a Deadly Threat Grows.

Tony: Someone close to Salazar (cut to unnamed Hispanic male) is demanding his release (cut to Tony, to Palmer, then back to Tony). If we dont comply (cut to Palmer, then Jack) hes threatening (cut to Tony) the release of a very deadly (cut to truck with yellow tarp over the back backing toward a pit) virus (tarp is removed to reveal dead bodies).

TC & VO: The strain (hah! get it?) has never been this extreme.

PalmerAide: The found a body thats been infected (cue concerned Palmer look).
Infectious Disease Specialist: If this virus (cut to hazmat truck) cant be contained (cut to a person in a containment bubble) we are looking at a global disaster (cut to computer screen showing a 97% mortality rate).

Palmer (to assistant): Give CTU carte blanche (cut to Jack and Chase walking toward the camera). Whatever they need make sure they get it.
Jack: This kids walking around with a bag of cocaine (cut to kid with a bag of cocaine), thats got the virus in it (cut to Jack and Chase talking earnestly, Ho!Yay!) and he doesnt know about it. I need to find him and stop him from putting it into circulation.

Jack in hallway: Chase we got a runner. Kicks down door, gun drawn. Shotgun blast from nefarious character.

TC & VO: On October 28
Chase: (pointing gun) Do it! (Cut to man with female hostage, Chase shooting a bad guy, punching or knifing another in the back).
(Cut to Jack, Chase punching someone, an unidentified couple rolling around in the sheets.)

TC &VO: The First Wave of Attack will be Terror....

Jack: (in biohazard suit) I think the (somethingorother) might have been infected.

TC &VO: The Last Line of Defense....

(Cut to a brief case with foam lining opening, unnamed Hispanic guy on his cell phone, Jack driving his Ford f-150, Chase grabbing Jack by the arm.)

TC &VO: Will be him.

Jack: Just do it now. (Cut to gloved hands holding a glowing device, followed by explosion, Kim turning to face the camera, Jack doing the same, Jack descending a flight of stairs with gun drawn, Chase and Jack squaring off to face one another, C&J looking up, Jack running while discharging (hee!) his weapon, and Jack looking into the camera.)

Electric blue color graphic with VO: 24. Season premiere, October 28 on Fox, presented without commercial interruption by the next Ford F-150. 3 minutes, 18 seconds.

Er gaat een gerucht dat Tony ergens rond aflevering 6 een ongeluk krijgt.

Hey. I live out in california and was lucky enough to be at the northridge mall while parts of an episode were being filmed. I was an extra as well and not iced Tony Almeida being carried on a stretch as jack is goin down an escalator. And tony was also bleeding from his eye or forward. I just don't know how it happened to the character TOny so their is a possible death or huge injury for Tony. I also got to meet Keifer and he was totally nice and cool.

Milde spoilers...

24 Slumberless Party: Earlier this week, in celebration of the new 24: Season Two DVD, 24 lucky fans got to go to the set and stay up 24 hours to watch 24 episodes of 24. (Notice a theme?)

I say "lucky" because they received a home-theater system if they made it the full 24 hours and because stars Kiefer Sutherland, Elisha Cuthbert and Reiko Aylesworth were on hand to hobnob with the diehards.

We press types also sat down with the stars, and first things first: It sounded to these spoiler-hungry ears like Sarah Wynter indeed comes back, based on the following exchange with Kiefer.

What about a love interest? "I'm not allowed to talk about that," he said. What about Sarah Wynter? "She does come back for...a moment...[pause]...I think." Put your backpedal to the metal, my friend.

When asked what he can reveal about the new season, Kiefer laughed and said, "Almost nothing. I can tell you the show starts about two and a half years after we left. I have a new partner--a young partner. We're up to episode six now, and hopefully we've learned a lot from season one and two. I think season one had a lot of thrilling aspects to it--it was very suspenseful. Season two had a little more action. Hopefully this year, we'll combine the two, and people will enjoy it just as much."

This season does sound better than ever--perhaps even in the Kim department. Though I've hated her storylines with every inch of my being, I must say I love me some Elisha. She is adorable in person and seems genuinely pleased with Kim's new direction--which, God willing and the cougars don't rise, could be a hopeful sign.

"I'm honestly, really excited," Elisha said. "This season, I'll have a boyfriend, and there's some drama going on with Dad.

There's a bunch of great stuff, and they've really stepped it up this year. Last season, I was always running, always off somewhere doing something crazy. This year, it's more substantial."

Speaking of "crazy," you should know that whole cougar incident didn't just bite in the figurative sense. "I got bit by that mountain lion/cougar cat type creature," Elisha says. "It was an experience. It was somewhat my fault. When you work with animals, you never know. We weren't shooting, so don't look for it on film. It bit me on the hand when we were getting to know each other. Things happen. I got the day off. "

Things are also happening for Reiko Aylesworth (Michelle)--but in a good way, as she claims her much deserved status as series regular this season. Still, she understands no one is safe on 24. "I read the scripts like a fan and scream, thinking, Oh, what's going to happen next?! Am I going to die?! Anybody can. I knew that coming in and was surprised I wasn't killed."

She's already received plenty of positives from the fans. "People always ask if the actors are really like their character," she says. "No. Or, 'Are you ever going to be able to change your clothes or leave the CTU?' Probably not. And people want to know what's going to happen, but they don't really want to know."

So, um, what is it that we really don't want to know? "The relationship [between Michelle and Tony] has definitely progressed," she says. "Things are going well. When I found out what was going to happen, I was really surprised. Carlos Bernard is a great guy--so much fun to work with."

Though Carlos sadly wasn't on hand (perhaps too devastatingly good-looking to leave the house), producers Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran offer a few answers, including one that warmed the cockles of my Web-dishing heart. "We do read [fan feedback]," Surnow says. "I personally read a lot of the stuff out there. We have a big Internet following. We don't really change anything or write by the polls, like politicians run their careers. But we do care."

I love it when a plan comes together !

The Hours

Fox's thriller 24 is back for a thrid season and we've got the exclusive intel on what the "day" will be like.

By Shawna Malcom

If you thought 24's cliff-hanger last May was a nail-biter, listen to what Kiefer Sutherland, who plays embattled federal agent Jack Bauer, had in mind: "I felt very strongly that if you really want to jar the audience, take Jack out."
Relaxing in is trailer on the show's San Fernando Valley set, Suthlernad tosses off his bombshel---kill Jack?!---so casually that he must be kidding. That's how 24 creators Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran took it too. "I said, 'What, do you have a movie offer?' " Surnow recalls. But Sutherland was dead serious. He felt the alternate ending would be truer to the drama's indiscriminate approach to casulaties. (Remember, Jack's wife, Teri, took a bullet at the close of Season 1.) "As much as it would break my heart not to do this show," Sutherland says, "I think it's important the audience believe that at any given moment, any cast member can go."
Thankfully, they opted not to "kill the golden goose---at least not yet," says executive producer Howard Gordon. But that doesn't mean 24---which unfolds in real time, with one episode equaling one hour in a crisis filled day---is playing it safe in the third season.

SPOILER ALERT (they're only minor ones, much of which are revealed in the trailer. The article continues after the spoilers)
**************************************************************************************************
*
*
*
*
*
Taking a cue from last season's alarmingly topical nuclear-bomb-threat plot, produces have concocted another story that tackles the country's post-September 11 fears. Three years after the events of last spring's finale---in which President David Pamer collaspsed after a poisonous handshake from assassin Mandy---terrorists threaten to unleash a leathal, weapons grade virus in LA (one that kills in 24 hours naturally). Palmer, played by Dennis Haysbert, is alive, if not entirely well, and once more in potential danger since he's just hit town for a reeclection debate.
This means that Jack is about to have his day from hell...again. Now a director of a field-ops unit in CTU, he has spent the previous six months trying to bring down Ramin Salazar, a Mexican drug lord with terrorist ties. And if you think buddying up to ruthless criminals doesn't mess with your head, well, you don't know Jack. The tortured CTU agent is having trouble holding it together: His relationship with Kate Warner (Sarah Wynter) has disintergrated and he's harboring a harrowing secret from most of his colleagues.
*
*

*
****************************************************************************************************************

SPOILER ALERT OVER! (Article continues from there.)

"Jack's just trying to hold on," Sutherland says. "You've got someone who's used to moving 180 miles an hour and now he's got to do it with a huge lead weaight around his ankle."
Palmer's bearing burden's too, but at least he's still kicking. When the finale was shot last spring, produces thought maybe their commander in chief's time was up. "We were afraid we might come up with a story line [for Season 3] that Palmer wouldn't have a prominent part it," Sunrow says, "Instead of marginalizing him, we thought, 'Let's have him go out in a blaze of glory.' "
But the potential to explore the lingering effects of the assasination attempt ultimately saved the prsident. While the physical reprocussions are immeadiately obvious (save for the scars on his hand) Palmer's emotional wounds are. "He's not too eager to trust," Haysbert says. "That's why his brother is his new chief of staff." [Operative 36 cutting in here. Isn't this unconstitutional?!]
And it's why his traitorous ex-wife, Sherry, is no longer in the picture--at least for now. (She and fellow villainesses Mandy and Nina "will be back if we need them," Gordon says.)
Haysbert, for one, is lobbying for Sherry's return. "I hope she'll be back. It would add some spice to an already spicy story," he says. Presumably, Sherry wouldn't react well to Palmer's new romance with a member of his extended staff.
It remains to be seen how viewers will take to the dramatic overhaul of Jack's daughter Kim, played by Elisha Cuthbert. Consistently trashed by critics and viewers alike for being the show's version of Jessica Simpson---blonde, whiny and clueless--Kim has undergone a makeover for Season 3. She has matured (smart pantsuits instead of tight shirts!"), is involved ina serious relationship and works at CTU, where she's under fire from coworkers who think she got her job simply because of Dad.
"Kim has to prove herself," says Cuthbert who got tired of far-fetched story lines and asked producers to give Kim a working brain. Media analyst Stacy Lynn Koerner thinks it's a smart move. "Reintroducing Kim as more capable will definetly be an improvement, but I'm not fully convinced that the audiences will accept her as a fully competent anitterrorist agent."
A few final classified developments: Jack contends with an impulsive new partner, Chase, and Tony and Michelle struggle with the professional implications of taken their relationship to a new level.
Beyond that Cochran promises [Op 36 cutting in again. This is my favorite part!]: "We have a surprise coming in the early set of episodes that will be bigger than any surprise we've ever done. It's not Jack dying but it's big."
Timing, no doubt, will be everything.

Kiefer Sutherland

Q&A with Kiefer Sutherland
By Shawna Malcom

Can't wait one more day to find out what's up with 24? Kiefer Sutherland, who plays counterterrorist agent Jack Bauer, gives us the scoop on the thriller's third season.

TV Guide: Besides dealing with a potential bioterrorist attack, Jack is tortured by a big secret he's hiding from his colleagues at CTU. What did you think when you heard about Jack's personal problem?

Sutherland:
That it's a fantastic thing to play. I can't talk a whole lot about it, but it's an interesting dynamic to add into the mix. You've got someone who's used to moving a hundred and eighty miles an hour and now he's got to do it with a huge lead weight around his ankle. It's that constant pull. It's what was so effective in the first season. His responsibility towards career and to the President of the United States and his responsibility, on a personal and emotional level, to his family and all those things. And that's something that this show really prides itself on, that kind of conflict. So I was very excited about that.

TV Guide: Thanks to a little help from Jack, Kim is now working at CTU.

Sutherland:
Yes. It's so he can make sure she's in an environment where he can look out for her. It's part of that guilt of feeling like he has screwed so much of her life up. With Jack, the one constant through line in his character is going to always be his incredible inability to forgive himself as a father, for losing his wife, for the choices he made in the first season. [With Kim], it doesn't matter how much she says, "I love you," it doesn't matter how much she says, "You're the best dad in the entire world thank you, thank you, thank you," he will always doubt that. And, in my experience, when you're not feeling that great about yourself, you tend to distance yourself and remove yourself [from those you love].

TV Guide: How would you describe the relationship between Jack and his new partner Chase?

Sutherland:
It's a little fatherly. But more than fatherly, it's more like an older brother. I think Jack sees a lot of himself in Chase. But something Chase does is going to drive a huge wedge between us.

TV Guide: Do you still get nervous at the beginning of a new season?

Sutherland:
Absolutely. You know, we love making this show and people have responded really well to it, which is why we're allowed to keep doing it. And, you know, we want people to like it, we want the people that have really stood by us and enjoyed the show so far, to enjoy it still. So, yeah, absolutely, we're still nervous about it, because by the time it airs we'll have finished [shooting] ten or eleven or twelve episodes. If there's a problem, we've got a lot of fixing to do, you know.

Meet Kiefer's New Partner on 24!
by Daniel R. Coleridge

James Badge

Who is James Badge Dale? Well, besides a dude with tough, gruff charm, he's Kiefer Sutherland's newest 24 co-star. The actor who was Simon in 1990's film adaptation of Lord of the Flies plays Chase, Jack Bauer's impetuous FBI partner. He's also dating Jack's daughter, Kim (Elisha Cuthbert). Sounds like a tricky combo!

"I think [Chase is] used to being good at what he does, he does his job well and he's not afraid to do what he wants," Dale says. "But I think that there's also this other side... fear of failure. I think he idolizes Jack; he wants to be Jack. He's trying to prove himself, and behind that is his fear of not being good enough."

Speaking of fear, Dale and his 24 castmates worry for their job security, not unlike the Sopranos cast does. "I think we all have a little bit of anxiety before we get every script," he admits. "I mean, what do you do? I knew walking in that, you know, they kill people off."

That said, the 25-year-old college dropout is just glad to have this plum acting gig at all. Heck, only six months ago, he was earning cash as a construction worker. "I've been working on and off in construction about six years," he says. "[This job] took me by surprise, because I really didn't think that I was even gonna be in the running. I kind of felt like I might be too young for it. I walked in [the audition], just had to wing something, and I guess it worked!"

The hype is starting!

24's Kim Takes Her Potty Break
by Danny Spiegel, TVGuide online

Last season on Fox's 24, it seemed Kiefer Sutherland's TV daughter, Elisha Cuthbert, did a lot of running. She ran into a psychotic child abuser, a stupid cop, a crazed loner in the woods, a homicidal convenience store shopper and even a thoroughly annoyed cougar. (You can follow Kim's ill-advised trail again on the just-released second season DVD.) But looking ahead, Cuthbert is relieved to find herself working at CTU in Season Three which premieres Oct. 28 at 9 pm/ET instead of racing along deserted roads. And now, just for us, the 20-year-old actress finally takes a breather.

TV Guide Online: Your character was always getting into the most ridiculous situations last season, and you took a lot of potshots for it.
Elisha Cuthbert: I understood where people were coming from. Whenever they cut to my character, boom! She was doing something that no one in their right mind would do. How else were people gonna react? I did get a lot of criticism for it, but then I did get a lot of good comments about it, too. I just try not to let either of those really affect me and just make sure that I do the best job that I can.

TVGO: How does your character start off this season? And how do you feel about Kim joining CTU?
Cuthbert: [Kim's] trying to prove to everyone that she didn't get the job just because of Dad. I was really worried. I think they went, "OK, we gave her this storyline are we going to be able to pull this off?" I knew I was given something really great, and I wasn't gonna just go, "Oh, whatever." I worked really hard at it, and it's paying off, because the dailies are going back to everybody, and I think they [feel] it's working.

TVGO: Do you think of Kiefer Sutherland as a father figure, or is that some serious acting we're seeing?
Cuthbert: Actually, I see him more as a friend and a co-worker. But the one thing that helps that father-daughter thing work so well is the fact that most girls respect their fathers, and I have a lot of respect for Kiefer as an actor. He's been really influential for me in the last three years.

TVGO: I'm always curious about when you guys go to the bathroom on 24. Because it seems like nobody ever does!
Cuthbert: This season, you see me use the washroom. That was a big point. I think the last two years, we were lacking bathroom scenes, and that is something that happens during the course of a day for everyone unless there's something wrong with them. So we've got that in there for sure, and I'm the lucky one.

TVGO: You should be very proud of yourself.
Cuthbert: See? I'm helping the show out. I'm not running anymore. I'm satisfying everyone's bathroom urges right now.

TVGO: You had a small part in Old School. On the DVD commentary, your costars tell the guys at home to "get the pause button ready" for when you appear on-screen in your sporty pink underwear. What did you think of that?
Cuthbert: It was kind of funny. We joked about it quite a bit how I chose pink underwear because when you're on a big screen, it's like your ass is massive. But yeah, it was funny. I wasn't shocked when I heard that.

TVGO: You were okay with your costars ogling you?
Cuthbert: I don't know if they were ogling me, so much as just preparing everyone at home for "the ass shot."

I love it when a plan comes together !
