Comic Relief Does Fame Academy...
Yes, the Fame Academy's oak-panelled doors are swinging open again, but this time it's to play host to a gaggle of celebrities who'll be put through their singing and dancing paces - all in the name of comedy!We can now reveal eight of the nine celebrities that will be raising their voices and lots of dosh for Comic Relief! They are: presenter Ulrika Jonsson; actor and comic John Thomson; actor Will Mellor; comedian Jo Brand; presenter/producer Paul Ross; Saturday Show presenter Fearne Cotton; Casualty's Kwame Kwei-Armah; presenter and comedian Ruby Wax plus a mystery student whose identity is still under wraps. They have been specially picked for their singing skills (or not, as the case may be - this is for Comic Relief, after all!) and will go through the same rigorous workouts that the former students went through at the original Academy.
The Academy's don of dance, Kevin Adams, will once again be working up a sweat in the dance studio, while Vocal Coach Carrie Grant will give the talented top bods' tonsils a serious testing. And if any celebrity decides to throw a superb strop and run their extra-thick lashings of mascara (the girls, that is), Personal Tutor Jeremy Milnes will lend a caring shoulder to cry on.
One celeb will be voted off each night, leading to the finale on Friday, March 14th when the final three will compete against each other to win the ultimate prize - a solo singing slot on the live Comic Relief show that evening! The Comic Relief Does Fame Academy website will bring you all the news and gossip from behind the scenes as well as interviews and videos so you can catch up on anything you've missed.
So, expect high drama, tantrums, celebrity strops and - let's not forget - glass-shatteringly awful singing. We can't wait Don't forget to tune in on Friday, 7th March at 9pm on BBC1.

Jo Brand HAS to go through, for being the most couragous woman there. (the horny cat's scrapping in my neighbours gardens in the middle of the night sound possitively angelic comparatively). And anyway, I want to see her in the academy.
Die jonge van Casualty gaat zeker door, hoop ik, want.......(switches seamlessly to English) I, for one, want to see somebody in there who is actually seriously TRYING to be a pop star, or who the very professional professionals can compliment each week and keep their professional opinions intact.
Also hope all the mediocre ones, that REALLY tried, get through.
Paul Ross can go tonight for me........Didn't like him much.
