Onder meer de stad Telde krijgt het hard te verduren door de enorme regenval. Videobeelden van Playa Salinetas tonen zelfs hoe een geparkeerde wagen de zee in gesleurd wordt, hulpeloos tegen al het water. Ook andere wagens werden meegesleurd in de straten van Telde. een vrouw kon er ternauwernood nog uit gered worden.

Opmerkelijk is dat het noodweer niet verwacht was. De zon scheen maandag, tot het plots erg hard begon te regenen en zelfs hagelen. De overheid heeft alle inwoners aangeraden om hun huizen alleen te verlaten als dat echt nodig is en bijzonder voorzichtig te zijn. De weerdiensten volgen de situatie van nabij op. Wanneer het noodweer zal stoppen, is nog niet duidelijk.

The Canary Islands' General Directorate of Emergencies has extended the pre-alert weather warning for rain to cover the entire archipelago from 1:30pm today, Monday 3rd March.

In addition, a higher alert level for rain has been issued for the following municipalities: Arucas, Teror, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa Brígida, Valsequillo, and Telde.

The heaviest rainfall is expected in the north and east of La Palma, the southeast of Tenerife, and the northeast of Gran Canaria, lasting until nightfall. There is also a possibility of isolated thunderstorms.

The weather outlook is cloudy for Lanzarote and Fuerteventura with light to moderate rain.

Multiple municipalities, including Arucas, Teror, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa Brígida, and Valsequillo, also faced disruptions because of the ongoing heavy rains.

According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), rain and snow will persist in the Canary Islands, albeit with reduced intensity, through March 4. Snow has been accumulating in high-altitude areas in Teide National Park in Tenerife and Roque de Los Muchachos in La Palma. Ice patches have resulted in road closures, including TF-24 between Los Loros and El Portillo, TF-445 from Buenavista to Faro de Teno, and LP-4 to Roque de Los Muchachos.
