The organization explains that, according to the Chemical Weapons Convention, any toxic chemicals used because of their toxic properties to cause harm or death are considered chemical weapons.

At least two Indian soldiers have been killed in Moscow's war on Ukraine, with several recruits previously telling AFP they were shipped to the front lines under false pretenses.

A statement published by India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) late Tuesday said four men had been arrested, including one who had worked in Russia as a translator for a network facilitating the recruitment of Indian soldiers.

"[An] investigation is continuing against other accused persons who are part of this international network of human traffickers," the statement read.

The arrests come two months after the investigators conducted raids across 13 locations in India and detained several people for questioning.

The CBI said then that it had found at least 35 instances of Indians being sent to Russia.

India's Foreign Ministry previously said it was working to secure discharges for around 20 Indian nationals in the Russian army.

Several Indian recruits told AFP in February that they were lured into joining Moscow's armed forces by promises of high salaries and Russian passports before being shipped to the front line.

The soldiers said they had been promised non-combatant roles but were trained to use Kalashnikov assault rifles and other weapons.

India is a longstanding ally of Russia and has shied away from explicit condemnation of the invasion of Ukraine.

Researchers believe that 2024 will see an increase in sabotage, drug-related crime, terrorism, extremism and property crime. They also expect an increase in very serious crime committed by organised crime groups and in crime relating to interethnic conflict.

An increase in black market weapons, veterans returning from the war in Ukraine, poverty and indebtedness, high levels of alcoholism, terrorism, extremism, illegal migration and inflation were just some of the factors that could also adversely affect the crime rate, they said.

They said benefit payments, countering terrorism and illegal migration and other similar measures could contribute to a reduction in crime.

Since the war in Ukraine began in February 2022, Russian soldiers returning home have been convicted of more than 2,500 crimes. In over half of those cases, however, veterans were given lighter than average sentences after their “participation in the special military operation” was taken into account by the court.

Operation Chrysalide is a secret undertaking organized by France to provide SCALP-EG air-launched land attack cruise missiles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This effort is not mentioned anywhere on the official media sources of the French military but Radio France Internationale managed to take a closer look at how it is organized. Notably, this is the first in-depth article about how long-range attack missiles are processed and delivered to Ukraine which makes it worth particular attention.

According to the sources asked by RFI, the SCALP missiles that could be transferred to the Ukrainian forces are divided into two categories: the ones fully operational but soon to reach their end of service life, as well as the "cannibalized" ones — some of their components were removed to keep other SCALPs in the French forces in working order. The second group of missiles must undergo restoration at their home factories in Bourges, where one of facilities belonging to MBDA company is located.

Also, all missiles need an "upgrade" taking three months to complete, although RFI journalists don't specify what kind of improvements are made, possibly speaking of necessary repairs to the dismantled ones. Then, the SCALPs are tested, but the procedure is simplified since Paris knows those will be used soon for attacks on russian targets, not just go back to storage.

Ukraine still can win the war against Russia, as the occupiers have only limited successes, the head of NATO's Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, said in an interview with the Belgian broadcaster VRT.

"It is not too late for Ukraine. The Russians have made progress, but it is still quite limited and not yet strategic," he said.

According to Bauer, the lack of support from the West has had consequences on the Ukrainian front.

"The most important thing is that we continue to provide aid. And the longer the war lasts, the more difficult this becomes. Many countries have been supplying weapons and ammunition from their stocks for two years now, but they are not infinite," the admiral said.

He added that in this situation, two things can be done: to "dig deeper" into one's supplies and to push even harder for the defense industry to produce much more and much faster.

The guerrillas also recorded the arrival of new trains with replenishment daily, releasing corresponding photos.

They claimed that the Russian military leadership continues to send mobilized troops to the front, stating, “The Ukrainian Defense Forces will meet them [the mobilized] and add to the statistics of Russian army losses.”

Additionally, the partisans reported the recorded transfer of a train of BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) towards the Kherson region in Dzhankoy. They released corresponding video and photographic evidence.
