AvP: Extinction Finally Announced! - [16:28 by Sadogoat]
What's Aliens Versus Predator: Extinction you ask? Why haven't I heard of it before you ask? Well, most of you have - it's Aliens Versus Predator: Natural Selection under a new name (anyone familiar with a certain Half-Life mod should figure out why). After what seems like an eternity, the cat has now been let out of the bag. It will be a real-time strategy game - a first for this particular franchise. Want some more blurb? Here's the official press release sent to us by Fox Interactive:"FOX INTERACTIVE AND EA TO DELIVER ALIENS VERSUS PREDATOR: EXTINCTION FOR NEXT GENERATION CONSOLES
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., February XX, 2003 Out thinking, out maneuvering and over powering the enemy in a race to dominate the planet is what players can look forward to in Aliens versus. Predator: Extinction. The game, based on the blockbuster Aliens and Predator sci-fi film franchises from Twentieth Century Fox, is the first game of its kind for next generation consoles, giving players the ability to play as one of three species: Aliens, Predators or Colonial Marines. Co-published by Fox Interactive and Electronic Arts (EA) for the PlayStation®2 and the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, Aliens versus Predator: Extinction is scheduled to ship in summer 2003.

Each species offers a unique set of attributes forcing players to master a variety of tactics and play styles in order to be victorious. As Colonial Marines, players will rely on military training and the latest hi-tech weaponry from the Weyland-Yutani Corporation to save the human population of LV-742. Closing Comments
I have to hand it to Microsoft. When we first saw KFC it was total crap. There was nothing enjoyable about the game whatsoever. The half-year delay has truly saved this game from being a total waste of disc space. However, it's still a very flawed game that just doesn't work with four players.
KFC is a tough one to judge for me. I put in a lot of hours in the single-player mode and really, really dug it. But when playing multiplayer, it was never a joy. I've yet to play with anyone who wasn't totally frustrated, annoyed, or bored by the game in a multiplayer match. Everyone I've tricked into player single-player has had fun. But, the multiplayer just isn't good.As much as I like the single-player modes, the truth is this is a multiplayer game. It's a party game. And as such, it's not so good. If you just want to enjoy this by yourself or possibly with one other friend, I'd say rent it first and test it out then buy it if you like it. But as a party game intended for four buddies at once, it's a big no. So sorry, try again.

Presentation
Inventive environments, fun characters, and perfect '70s Kung Fu spoofery. 8.0
Graphics
Solid effects and some interesting environments, but the game isn't as varied and interesting as it could have been. 6.0
Sound
Good '70s flavor you can easily toss and use your own music if preferred. The sound effects are basic and the voices are limited, just like a real action movie. 7.0
Gameplay
The single-player mode is a lot of fun, but this game is a train wreck when you toss in four players. Hard to see what you are doing or know what is going on. Limited control scheme. 5.0
Lasting Appeal
The selling point of any fighter is a strong multiplayer mode, which KFC lacks. It's the single-player stuff that will occupy your time. Who buys a party game to play alone? 6.0
OVERALL SCORE (not an average) 6.3
Niet best....
