Omdat de nummers die dan voor Nederland zitten allemaal totaal niet de mensen aanspreken die wel op Nederland zouden stemmen. Dan is een contrast juist mooi en kan dat een groter voordeel zijn dan laat zitten denk ik.

With only a few hours left until the (surprisingly early!) official reveal of the running orders this year, I've crunched some numbers from my subreddit running order prediction game to provide some stats. With a massive 151 participants in the first semifinal so far and 90 in the second semifinal, I haven't had the time to manually sift through so much data for each and every slot, so instead I've focussed in on a couple of key positions in each semi to see what our fandom hivemind thinks.

Semifinal 1:

Opening Song (#1)

Malta: 61/151 - 40.4%

Norway: 47/151 - 31.1%

Ireland: 33/151 - 21.9%

Others: 10/151 (Serbia 5, Portugal 4, Croatia 1, Latvia 0) - 6.6%

We have three clear favourites for the opening song of the contest: Malta, Norway and Ireland!

The Dreaded #2 slot

Ireland: 71/151 - 47%

Malta: 28/151 - 18.5%

Croatia: 26/151 - 17.2%

Latvia & Portugal: 9/151 each - 6% each

Norway: 5/151 - 3.3%

Serbia: 3/151 - 2%

Ireland is our clear top pick for the #2 slot, with Malta and Croatia as the main outsiders. But would a British production team really screw their Irish friends like this?

Closing Song (#15)

Finland: 61/151 - 40.4%

Israel: 39/151 - 25.8%

Sweden: 20/151 - 13.2%

Czechia: 13/151 - 8.6%

Moldova: 11/151 - 7.3%

Others: 7/151 (Switzerland 3, Netherlands 2, Azerbaijan 2) - 4.6%

With so many favourites in this half, almost half of us are predicting Finland as the perfect partymetal finale, with other uptempo songs Israel and Sweden the main chasers.

Semifinal 2:

Opening Song (#1)

Belgium: 62/90 - 68.9%

Iceland: 16/90 - 17.8%

Denmark: 6/90 - 6.7%

Others: 6/90 (Cyprus 3, Armenia 2, Greece 1, Estonia & Romania 0) - 6.7%

Belgium is far and away our favourite to start the second semi!

The Dreaded #2 slot

Romania: 30/90 - 33.3%

Greece: 29/90 - 32.2%

Cyprus: 8/90 - 8.9%

Belgium: 7/90 - 7.8%

Denmark: 6/90 - 6.7%

Iceland & Estonia: 5/90 each - 5.6% each

Armenia: 0/90 - 0%

Our predictors have Romania and Greece as our main #2 slot contenders.

Closing Song (#16)

Slovenia: 31/90 - 34.4%

Australia: 27/90 - 30%

Austria: 21/90 - 23.3%

Others: 11/90 (Georgia 4, Lithuania 4, San Marino 2, Poland 1, Albania 0) - 12.2%

Again we have a three-horse predictive race here, with Slovenia our favourite to rock out at the tail end of the second semifinal, with Australia and fan-favourite Austria close chasers.
