Op de site van Nintendo werd vandaag bekend gemaakt dat Retro Studios bezig is met een vervolg op Metroid Prime.

Het waren eerst geruchten die de Nintendo wereld binnen kwamen rollen, waarin gezegd werd dat er een Metroid 2 in de maak was. En het bleef ook bij geruchten, tot vandaag. Vandaag blijkt namelijk dat er zeker een vervolg op Metroid Prime in de maak is.

Op de officiële site van Nintendo konden wij het volgende bericht vinden;

"A follow-up to the hit Metroid Prime is in development. No release date or other information is available at this time."

Retro Studios, de studio die ook deel 1 voor de GameCube op zich nam, zal deel 2 gaan maken. Dus ondanks het feit dat deel 1 nog niet eens in de Europese winkels ligt, zal binnen een nog onbepaalde tijd deel 2 gaan verschijnen. De geruchten laten ons wel weten dat de game pas in 2004 de markt zal bereiken.

Zodra er meer details vrijkomen in verband met 'Metroid 2' laten wij je het weten!

Naar het schijnt komt er namelijk in Japan op 19 maart een dubbel cd uit, waarop de muziek uit de laatste Zelda zal staan; de OST (Original Sound Track) van The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Deze dubbel cd zal 3200 yen gaan kosten. Of deze soundtrack hier ook uit zal komen weten we nog niet, maar we kunnen het in ieder geval hopen. Yes, its been a while since Ive poked my head out. Ive been rather busy whooping Billys ass in Mortal Kombat. Its actually been kinda quiet, and the little birdies havent been out much. Cant blame them. Its colder than heck here in Minnesota. But there seems to have been some rumblings that have come across my plate lately that have tickled my fancy, and you know mewell.I just gotta tell you.

First off, there seemed to be a lot of pissed off North Americans who felt they were getting the shaft because the US wasnt going to be getting a black GBA SP. Well my friends, relax. Its coming. When, Im not exactly sure, but it is coming. I also heard rumblings of other GBA SP colors down the road as well. Not all that surprising, but if youre not happy with the initial colors, dont worry.

Well, if you made the plunge for Nintendos online strategy, and already played through (over and over and over) Phantasy Star Online and have already put your Broadband Adapter on the shelf, youll want to dust it off later this year. But it may not be what you think, or what youre hoping for. The word is on the street that certain big name titles will be networkable. Meaning youll be able to connect multiple GameCubes and televisions and get your game on. So what games Louie? While I cant reveal specifics, Nintendo has at least 2 in the pipe, and Sega has one [b]F-Zero anyone?. Whether these games will also have online capabilities is unknown, but keep your fingers crossed.

And now, the US and European GC buyers will be receiving a free game with their purchase. Looking to the future, president Iwata was interviewed and mentioned the possibility of a price drop in the near future. This is not saying that Nintendo will put the green light on the price drop, but it does confirm that Nintendo is taking notice and striving to make more effort that in the past to stay competitive.
