As the remaining 14 Premier League clubs meet to discuss the controversial breakaway competition, the official told Sky Sports News: ”Remember, we’re not the aggressors here. We are simply trying to begin a new competition.”

At this stage it is not known whether police have been informed of the social media posts which threatened the official’s life.
