Een complex van buien en onweersbuien (Invest 90L), zal naar verwachting tegen het einde van zaterdag in of nabij de Noordwest-Bahama's een tropische of subtropische storm worden. Als 90L zich dit weekend ontwikkelt zoals verwacht, zal het de naam Arthur krijgen (Stormen boven de Atlantische krijgen namen op volgorde van het alfabet).
Het weermodel HWRF laat dit systeem dicht langs de kust van het oosten van de VS gaan. Hierbij is de kans aanwezig dat de storm landfall maakt ergens in de buurt van Washington - New York.

Als deze storm zich verder ontwikkelt, zal het de zesde storm op rij worden die zich voor het begin van het orkaanseizoen, wat officieel begint op 1 juni.
