RTÉ News has learned that a
pig meat processing plant in Edenderry in Co Offaly has had almost
60 cases of Covid-19 confirmed so far this week. Rosderra Meats (the
largest pork processing company in Ireland) also had more than
120 cases confirmed .

New coronavirus outbreak at meat processing plant sparks concern across Germany.
Germany has uncovered another cluster of coronavirus infections at an abattoir fuelling alarm about working conditions in the country's meat packing plants.
A total of
92 employees at the Westfleisch slaughterhouse in Lower Saxony state have tested positive , local authorities in Osnabrûck district announced late Sunday.
The plant has been closed until further notice and staff have been placed in quarantine, joining a string of German slaughterhouses that have suffered similar outbreaks.

Nu ook Frankrijk:France hit by new
Covid-19 outbreaks in two abattoirs.
Around a hundred people are believed to have been infected by the coronavirus in newly discovered outbreaks in two French abattoirs.
One abattoir is in the central Val de Loire region near the city of Orléans. The other is in the northwestern region of Brittany.
Regional health officials said 63 of the 209 workers at the Breton slaughterhouse had so far tested positive for the virus.
At the slaughterhouse in Fleury-les-Aubrais, near Orléans, officials there said they had detected a “cluster” of 34 cases among the 400 workers. Another 40 were tested on Sunday with others following on Tuesday.
