Hello and welcome back to the Rumour Mill, which consists of some incredibly interesting newsbites. So what are you guys waiting for, lets take a look at what rumours are crawling around the Internet, magazines and through my very own sources.

1. Nintendo Online!
Last week Nintendo revealed that Gamecube modems are going to be released alongside Phantasy Star Online on March 3rd. I dont know about you, but to me that is amazing news. This means that Nintendo Gamecube will be the first of the three Next Generation Consoles to go online in Europe. There was one big disappointment though there will only be one game available at launch! If you are a bit disappointed like me, then you will be pleased to know that I have heard from various sources that another game will be released alongside Phantasy Star Online. Unfortunately though, it wont be a Nintendo game. I have been informed that the game will be none other than Ubi Softs Ghost Recon, which is a very promising game indeed. So come March 7th, we should have at the very least two online games to get connected to. Thats not all though as rumours are growing that Nintendo will be releasing two more online titles by the end of the year. I am not sure what those games are but I have a feeling that it might be Pikmin and Mario Kart. Yeah!

2. Another Press Conference Incoming This Week!
Namco are set to make a big announcement either tomorrow or Thursday. The announcement is expected to be about the console versions of Soul Calibre 2. This announcement will include all the extra features the console versions will have over the arcade version. An online mode could well have been implemented into the game as well. Namco will also discuss the GBA link up features with the Gamecube version at the press conference. Now the big question I am sure you are asking is: Which console will the game be released on first? Well you can all take a deep breath now because all signs are pointing towards the Gamecube version getting released first alongside the Game Boy Advance version. The Gamecube will get the game first is because the game was made from the Triforce Arcade Hardware thus making the conversion to Gamecube a lot quicker and easier than to other consoles. We should also find out if the rumours are true if Link will be an unlockable character in the game and if so who else will be in it? Expect an August release for the game in Japan with a November US launch following. Us Europeans though will have to sit out to at least February 2004 before we get are greasy mitts on the game. The X Box and Playstation 2 versions should be released roughly 2-3 months after the Cube version.

3. Konami Ten!
Very Soon Konami is going to unveil no less than ten games for the little Cube. I dont mean those useless ones either like Disney Skateboarding etc. These games are going to be big time releases. Well all I have to say to Konami is that it is about to you released something good for the Cube. Because of this announcement I have been nagging at may sources and searching around the net for what these games could be and here is a tentative list of titles:

Pro Evolution Soccer 3
Remake of Metal Gear Solid (Exclusive)
A straight port of Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance
Eclipse Original game being created by Hideo Kojima (Exclusive)
Goeman
Silent Hill 3
ISS 3
Turtles
WTA Tennis 2004
Contra (Port of Playstation 2 Game)
Remember to take this list with a pinch of salt as these games have been floating about that net and that means that most of them are very iffy. Not all of them though as Eclipse and the remake of Metal Gear Solid have been practically confirmed, just not officially.

Two More Quick Rumours

Product Number 03 may be about to be given a September 2003 release for Europe. Thats earlier than expected! USA will get their copies in June. That is not all though as Viewtiful Joe will definitely be out everywhere by the end of the year. Rating 9/10
Rumours are circulating that a delay to Batman Dark Tomorrow will be announced soon. Unfortunately the rumour seems to be true, as we have not heard much about the game for a while. Rating 8 /10

Nintendo have announced that Animal Crossing WILL NOT BE released in Europe. Contrary to earlier reports a Nintendo spkoesperson said, Animal Crossing 2 [tentative title] will become the new way of communicating for the console generation. It will see a happiness-themed community of friends the likes of which have never been imagined

It looks like we'll have to wait for the sequel before we can play this cutesy Nintendo title. We heard reports earlier that Animal Crossing was being play-tested by Nintendo of Europe. It seems this have fallen through and the game will not be released after all.

ik zou het echt naaierig vinden als die disc er in japan en de vs wel bij zit en bij ons niet.

Maar wat kunnen we er aan doen?

Het Japanse bedrijf Hori gaat deze controller fabriceren. Deze controller is speciaal gemaakt om met je Gamecube Gameboy Player te spelen. De knopjes zijn namelijk identiek aan die van de GBA. Gelukkig is het niet verplicht om zo'n speciale controller te hebben bij het spelen van Gameboy Advance spellen op je Gamecube, maar het is natuurlijk wel grappig. Dit ding zal in Japan rond de 10 euro gaan kosten, maar het is nog niet bekend of het ooit naar Europa komt.

Toch grappig, eerst worden SNES spellen naar de GBA geport, om ze daarna op de Gamecube te spelen, maar dan wel met een SNES controller. De cirkel is bij Nintendo weer rond!

Zou je trouwens ook online kunnen spelen met 3 vrienden vanaf één cube?

(in de XBox-versie met spawn en in de PS2-versie met een figuur uit Tekken).
