The Mamas open with the song Move. This is not as much Motown gospel as I had imagined beforehand. It's a bit more soul than that, with an oh-oh-oh loop as the instant hook.

Of course, there are lots of handclaps in this joyful pop/soul opener. Including a completely given break where the entire audience is expected to clap in pace.

Maybe I would have liked an even catchier chorus, but this will fill the stage with joy and work great as the opener of Melodifestivalen 2020.

Oh. Of course, the song title Take a chance reminds me of an Abba song. Apart from that, this isn't any similar to Abba. This is a great pop song with an extremely catchy and hooky chorus. The heartbeat will go bananas from the start of the song, I guess.

But then it's quite unclear where the song is going, it doesn't follow any sunny and clear road, but goes from a very catchy chorus to a lot of playfulness, where Robin almost shouts out certain parts of the song.

I don't know what I just heard. But I want to hear it again.

Surprisingly, this is quite different from the bubble gum pop she did last year. This feels much more Sia and Rihanna. The verse feels somewhat weak, but the chorus is great. Here Malou will to prove that she can sing, and her voice is rather deep, which makes it stand out. I never thought of that last year.

Now, schlager lovers, this is for you. Maybe just for you, though ... In Sonja Aldén's musical world, not much has changed since "För att du finns" in 2007.

This is schlager ballad all the way. Qualiyfing any further on Saturday could be very tough for Sonja.

It is like the kind of schlager ballad that was very successful throughout the 80s and 90s in both Melodifestivalen, Eurovision and Svensktoppen, but in recent years much broader appeal has been required for qualifying from a semifinal Mello.

Cool pop song with a chorus that is spoken rather than sung. The verses are great, the bridge super gorgeous and then it comes a silent break before spoken-word chorus. I have a hard time placing this. The verses and the bridge are effective and will get the voices rolling in. It will be interesting to see how the chorus comes across on stage. It could be very nice. Or fall flat.
