Het is zuur dat je in een juniorklasse al afhankelijk bent van DRS om in te halenquote:

Maar Vips kwam er met DRS ook niet voorbij, wat ook wel wat zegt.

Daar is 'ie weer hoor.quote:Artem Markelov begint volgend jaar aan zijn zevende achtereenvolgende seizoen met optredens in de Formule 2. De Rus stapt voor zijn eerstvolgende campagne in de hoogste opstapklasse over naar HWA.
Markelov behoort inmiddels tot het meubilair van het kampioenschap. De Rus is sinds 2014, toen de klasse vanzelfsprekend nog als GP2 door het leven ging, ieder jaar van de partij geweest met minimaal een aantal races in actie. In 2017 beleefde Markelov zijn beste seizoen tot dusver, met vijf overwinningen en een tweede plek in het kampioenschap. Daarna bleef de volgende stap uit, ook al omdat Russian Time - de formatie waarvoor hij reed - eind 2018 verkocht werd en UNI-Virtuosi de licentie overnam.
Voor Markelov leek dat een jaar zonder F2 te betekenen. Hij trok in 2019 naar Japan voor de Super Formula, maar kon de verleiding van de hoogste opstapklasse onder F1 toch niet weerstaan. Zo stapte hij in Monaco in bij het Nederlandse MP Motorsport als vervanger van Jordan King, die in dat weekend de Indy 500 reed. De laatste twee raceweekenden van 2019 neemt hij voor zijn rekening namens Arden, dat vanzelfsprekend getroffen werd door het overlijden van Anthoine Hubert op Spa.
Voor 2020 neemt HWA de licentie, auto's en gereedschappen van Arden over en komt het team voor het eerst zelfstandig uit in de Formule 2. Helemaal nieuw is het uit de DTM en Formule E bekende team overigens niet in de F1-opstapklassen. Zo maakte men afgelopen seizoen al haar opwachting in de Formule 3, met onder meer Bent Viscaal in de gelederen.
Bij het Formule 2-team van HWA is alvast een zitje gereserveerd voor Markelov, tot vreugde van de Rus. "Ik kijk er erg naar uit om volgend jaar met HWA Racelab uit te komen in de Formule 2. HWA heeft een enorme ervaring in de autosport en ik weet zeker dat ik daarvan kan profiteren." Ulrich Fritz, CEO van HWA, denkt dat zijn formatie anderzijds ook kan profiteren van de ervaren Markelov. "Artem is een ideale coureur voor ons eerste seizoen als zelfstandig team in de Formule 2. Hij heeft veel ervaring en zijn erelijst met acht zeges spreekt voor zichzelf."

For his first full season in Motorsport, his resume was nothing short of sensational: In 2017 he was Champion in F4 Italy, runner-up in F4 Germany and 4th of the Toyota Racing Series for a total of 10 wins and 32 podiums. In 2019, he finished runner up in both the FIA Formula 3 Championship and the Toyota Racing Series.

It’s been a driving force in GP2 and F2 over the last fifteen years and a lot of F1 drivers have come from the ranks of ART Grand Prix. I’m confident we can be successful together because the team wants to teach me all the right things and one of my strengths has always been to adapt to news situations. I will have to learn pit stops and race strategy, but I’m determined to do a good job straight away. We will be in Abu Dhabi for the three-day test session and after some nice preparation with simulators and computers I can’t wait to take to the wheel of the Formula 2 car with ART Grand Prix. I want to thank them, as well as the Ferrari Driver Academy and Ferrari management for giving me the best possibility to enter into Formula 2.”

“I’m genuinely delighted that Marcus and ART Grand Prix are joining forces as I wanted to get him onboard last year in Formula 3. Marcus’s profile fits perfectly with the philosophy of our company and race team and we are happy he is joining us in Formula 2 because I think that between his race approach and his adaptation skills, he will be able to fight for the front positions. Marcus only has three seasons in open wheeler under his belt and he already has some beautiful achievements in comparison to drivers of his generation, who have much more experience. The winter preparation will be crucial for the success of the ART/Marcus pairing, but I’m confident we can do great things together.”
Robert Shwarzmann gaat naast Mick Schumacher bij Prema rijden, Giuliano Alesi komt naast Artem Markelov bij HWA en Calum Ilott verkast naar UNI-Virtuosi.

Zou lekker voelen als nyck ook deze races nog voor latifi weet te eindigen. voor zijn zelfvertrouwen. de f1 gaat hij er niet meer mee redden.

Ik denk dat de verliezer van die twee een 1 loopbaan wel kan vergeten. En dan hebben ze ook nog Armstrong en Illott, maar die schat ik beide lager in dan in elk geval Schwartzman.
