German Chancellor Angela Merkel is holding a press conference in Berlin on Monday, October 29, following the state legislature election in Hesse and reports that she will not seek re-election as CDU party leader.
Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) won 28 percent of the vote, a 10 percent loss compared to the previous election five years ago.
