Biggy is één van m'n eerste straatmaatjes. Lokale lobbes die bij voorkeur de gehele dag in het zonnetje ligt te meuren. 's Avonds escorteert hij liefst mensen naar huis. We all know that no one will adopt a big, fat and ugly dog and we all know what happens with big, fat and ugly dogs which don't get adopted.
We can't let that happen to Biggie, as indeed he might be big, he might be ugly and for sure he's fat. But he's an icon of Samovodska Charsia, unwanted mascot of Café Yasna and a guardian of the night who guided the feminine ánd the drunk a safe way home.
Besides all of that, he is our big, fat and ugly friend.
Anybody who knows how we can bail out our beloved pal, so he can roam the streets in freedom again?
Maar Biggy zit nu dus vast. Een paar vrijwilligers van de opvang hebben mij gecontacteerd om te zeggen dat Biggy op last van de gemeente gevangen is gezet. Dit omdat het beleid is om honden waar één klacht betreffende agressie over binnenkomt direct uit de samenleving te nemen. Eén van de vrijwilligsters woont bij mij in de straat en kent Biggy dientegevolge ook al vele jaren. Zij wéét dat Biggy niet alles behalve agressief is en gaf mij aan dat het een bekend probleem is dat er een paar mensen met een hekel aan honden zijn die het tot sport hebben verheven om vrije viervoeters vastgezet te krijgen. Bij voorkeur zien zij Biggy ook gewoon op straat, maar ja. Regels.
Ze hebben hun best gedaan om Biggy vrij te krijgen maar de gemeente was niet te vermurwen. De laatste optie om mijn maatje nog vrij te krijgen is door hem te adopteren. En dat was dus het plan. Schaamteloze copypastepost II

- Ik heb nog geen flauw idee hoe maar ik ga van die 'opvang' een betere plek maken.
- In dit topic ga ik geregeld iets over de vorderingen laten weten met uiteraard het nodige aan fotomateriaal.
Zal er vanavond wat meer over schrijven.
Staan de honden op beton? Dan moeten er meer plateaus komen.
