Hij weet het zelf nog niet.

Nyck de Vries has confirmed that he may leave Formula Renault 3.5 before it becomes the new-look Formula 3.5 championship next year, leaving him unlikely to test in the RPM-endorsed championship post-season.
De Vries, currently third in the standings ahead of the final race of the season this weekend, has secured five podiums with the French outfit since stepping up from Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup at the end of 2014. After winning the two litre category in a dominant campaign, there was much expectation on the shoulders of the youngster before his début.
DAMS Racing has two drivers and teams championships to their credit and welcomed the junior racing talent to their squad on the first day of post-season testing last year. DAMS is the only team not returning to the RPM-backed series when it parts ways with F3.5 next year. The new moniker, which drops Renault from the title, will come into force at the start of 2016 for its inaugural season.
“I honestly don't know where I will be next year,” he told Crash. net after a debrief with his engineers. “I wish I knew but I don't, let's see.”
DAMS' move to GP3 would allow for a direct path into GP2 for its drivers. Pierre Gasly and Alex Lynn are currently at the helm of the GP2 models.
“Obviously, it is a possibility to stay with [DAMS] for GP3 next season but there are a lot of different opportunities and possibilities available to me.”
Perhaps best known as a McLaren junior, the 20-year-old has spent five years under the guidance of the Wokingham-based outfit's development scheme and is the third driver in as many years to contest the FR3.5 championship, following in the footsteps of Stoffel Vandoorne and 2013 champion, Kevin Magnussen.
It is McLaren, he admits, who will have the most say regarding his future, even scheduling the Dutchman on a flight home at the end of the final round of the season's championship.
“McLaren will decide it,” he continued. “You ask like it is my decision but I follow the orders from the bosses, it's not up to me to decide.
“I don't think I am testing. To be honest, last year, I didn't know I was testing until the Sunday before so that's how it goes. I have a flight booked home and I didn't last year so I assume I won't.”
