STRONG RED BULL KTM FACTORY RACING TEAM 2015

MXGP
Antonio Cairoli
Ken de Dycker
Tommy Searle

MX2
Jeffrey Herlings
Pauls Jonass
Davy Pootjes

The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing will go into the 2015 World Championship racing season with another strong lineup and with the intention of once again challenging for both the MXGP and MX2 world titles.

The factory team that has dominated the competition in recent years will field eight-times World Champion Antonio Cairoli of Italy, Ken de Dycker of Belgium and Britain’s Tommy Searle in MXGP. Cairoli, one of the most successful riders in FIM World Championship competition will continue his bid for another title. Teammate Ken de Dycker will return to the competition after a 2014 plagued with injuries but Ken will be ready to race for the 2015 season. Newcomer to the MXGP lineup but no stranger to the KTM factory team is Tommy Searle of the UK. Searle finished second in MX2 in 2008 riding a KTM 250 SX-F.

Herlings out to capture third MX2 title in 2015
Jeffrey Herlings of the Netherlands was the stand out rider in 2014, winning 12 of the first 13 GPs but then broke his leg. The Dutch rider showed enormous courage to return in the final round in Mexico in an attempt to win his third consecutive title and returns in 2015 with this goal firmly on his radar screen.

Continuing KTM’s policy of nurturing the most promising young talents, Herlings will be in the MX2 factory team with Pauls Jonass, 17, of Latvia. He won the FIM 85cc Junior World Title in 2011 and captured the Junior Motocross World Championship title in 125cc. In 2014 he rode for Italy’s Marchetti Racing KTM. Herlings and Jonass will be riding the KTM 250 SX-F.

KTM has also signed young Dutch teenager Davy Pootjes to compete in the European Championship. He will also compete in selected MX2 GPs next season.

Pit Beirer, Head of KTM Motorsports: “We are pleased to announce the factory team lineup for 2015, which I believe is a strong balance of both experience and talent. We already know we can expect great commitment from Tony Cairoli, Ken de Dycker and Jeffrey Herlings. We’re pleased to welcome Tommy Searle back into the factory team and with Pauls Jonass and Davy Pootjes we have two talented young riders under contract to secure our future. The competition continues to be very tough but we will be doing our best to keep KTM firmly in the forefront of these challenging championships.”

Live Monster Energy Cup - Press conference
http://vurbmoto.com/video(...)nference-live/21846/

Vurbmoto's Burning Questions:

1. Jason Anderson won his debut race for Husqvarna in Sweden at the 24MX event. Will Anderson put in another impressive ride for his debut race in the States?

2. The million dollar question: Will any rider sweep all three main events and win the Monster Million?

3. Ryan Dungey has been the bridesmaid at all three Monster Energy Cup races. Can he finally get the monkey off of his back and win the overall?

4. Aaron Plessinger and Jordon Smith should be the top guys to beat in the Amateur All-Star class. Which rider will get the overall and can any of the other challengers take the win away from them?

5. A lot of hype is surrounding Justin Barcia’s move to JGR Yamaha. Can the 2012 Monster Energy Cup winner become the first two-time winner?

6. Blake Baggett is debuting his Yoshimura Suzuki. Can Blake show that he has what it takes to be a 450 front-runner in his first race?

7. Two-time defending winner of the Supermini class Austin Forkner will be sitting out of his big bike debut at this event injured. Which rider will step up and take his place in the class?

8. Davi Millsaps has not raced since the 2013 supercross series. Can Davi come back after so much time off and be a podium threat right away?

9. Trey Canard is coming off of four out of five moto wins from the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series. Can he carry the same success into the Monster Energy Cup?

10. Dean Wilson is coming off of two successful 450 races. At the Motocross of Nations and the Red Bull Straight Rhythm he had very strong showings. Can he continue this success at the MEC?

2015 AMA Supercross kalender

AURORA, Ill. – Feld Motor Sports® and FOX Sports announced today the 2015 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, television schedule that includes 17 live races, headlined by the first-ever live FOX network broadcast from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., on Saturday, April 25.

The 2015 Monster Energy Supercross season opens Saturday, Jan. 3, in Anaheim, Calif., with the first of 12 live races on FOX Sports 1. Three races currently are scheduled to air live on FOX Sports 2, with all races available live through the FOX Sports GO app, which will provide live streaming of every Monster Energy Supercross race.

“The 2015 Monster Energy Supercross television package on FOX Sports is a testament to the network’s strengthening commitment to help grow the Monster Energy Supercross brand,” said Ken Hudgens, COO, Feld Motor Sports. “The 2015 television package is the strongest ever and signifies a major milestone with the first ever live airing on FOX Broadcast Network. The riders, teams, manufacturers, sponsors, and entire sport will be elevated by the live network broadcast on FOX. This is a major announcement that is great for everyone involved, including the broad viewing audience.”

A key change to the races in 2015 will be the start time for all races (except East Rutherford). Each race will start 30 minutes earlier, at 7:00pm local race time, with the afternoon pit parties also starting 30 minutes earlier at Noon local race time. This is a better race time, and television time, for Monster Energy Supercross fans, including those on the east coast.

Monster Energy Supercross’ international television footprint, which reached over 100 countries in 2014, will be announced soon and will once again include live television in Australia, among others. All in, there has never been more live television, more viewers, or more global broadcast hours for Monster Energy Supercross.

“Monster Energy Supercross offers some of the most intense on-track action in all of motor sports and we believe we have put together a very strong television package for 2015,” said Patrick Crakes, FOX Sports SVP of Programming, Scheduling and Content Strategy.

The FOX Sports broadcast team of Ralph Sheheen, Jeff Emig and Jenny Taft returns in 2015, with guest analyst appearances from five-time Monster Energy Supercross Champion Ricky Carmichael.

Additional television announcements surrounding the 2015 Monster Energy Supercross seasons will be coming shortly. 2015 Monster Energy Supercross television schedule (all times ET and subject to change):

450 - Ryan Villopoto

KTM Racing signs Jeffrey Herlings for 2016-2017

KTM Racing has announced that Jeffrey Herlings, the most talented rider in the World Championship Motocross paddock has been signed to ride as a Red Bull KTM factory rider until the end of the 2017 season.

In 2009 Jeffrey rode for JM Racing KTM, his first step to becoming a full factory rider with the KTM team. His opportunity came to move into the MX2 KTM Factory Team at the end of 2009 when, shortly after his fifteenth birthday he had his first factory ride.

Herlings, a Red Bull athlete, rode his first full MX2 season with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing in 2010 and became the youngest ever MX2 GP winner riding in front of his home crowd at Valkenswaard in April of that year.

Since then he has amassed an impressive total of two MX2 World Championship titles (2012 and 2013), 43 GP wins and in 2014 had an unbeaten streak of 18 race wins. He also won all the GPs in which he started in 2014 however an untimely injury prevented him from competing in the next three GPs of the season.

Jeffrey showed immense courage and determination, and the respect of the entire world of motorcycling to return to the final round in Mexico, attempting to seal his third title by racing in the final round while riding with a still injured leg.He finished the championship in second place conceding only in the final race of the season.

Jeffrey Herlings: “I’ve now had five seasons with KTM and I’m very happy that Pit (Beirer) is giving me a chance to stay with the team for another three years. The team has done a great job and I hope we can continue with good news and good wins in the future.”

Pit Beirer, Head of KTM Motorsport: “We are very pleased to have reached agreement with Jeffrey to ride for the factory team through to the end of 2017. Anyone who is a follower of the sport recognizes that he is a rider of passion and exceptional skill and we are very proud that he will be on our bikes and in our factory team in the coming seasons.”
