Doctor Who) Will Burton, een succesvolle advocaat. Alles in zijn leven leek top, tot de zaak waarin hij Liam Foyle (door Toby Kebbell) moet verdedigen...
De een vindt het geweldig, de ander niet:
IMDB: 7,4
Independent: ''[..]what The Escape Artist lacked in original characters, it made up for in scares. Even in this scene-setting episode, there were enough jumpy moments to have you hiding your eyes behind a sofa cushion and nervously counting down the hours till episode two.''
The Guardian: ''I know everyone deserves a defence, but that's quite a big ask of the viewer.
We'll just have to go along with it, I guess, because otherwise The Escape Artist is excellent. Post tragedy, Tennant comes into his own, no longer smug and unbearable but bereaved and haunted. Even his eyes suck you quietly into his sorrow. He is a properly good actor, no? And we're into a taut, pacy, chilling – really chilling – thriller not just about what goes on in the courtroom, but about how that affects the lives of people outside. I'm both excited and dreading the rest.''
The Metro: 3/5 (niet heel positief, maar: ''The Escape Artist’s implicit questioning of the morality of our legal system is thought-provoking.'')
Ik vind het zeker een aanrader. Vraag me ook erg af waar het heen gaat. Wat vonden jullie?
