Grieken verbieden dieren in circussen

ATHENE - Griekenland verbiedt het gebruik van dieren in circussen.
Het land is daarmee een voorloper in Europa.

Het totaalverbod is verankerd in een nieuwe Griekse wet op de dierenbescherming,
meldden Griekse media vrijdag.

In Nederland is het bij wet niet mogelijk om dieren uit circussen te weren, maar sommige
gemeenten houden er wel een eigen beleid op na. Dat is onder meer in Amsterdam, Groningen
en Den Haag het geval.

In Belgi� en Duitsland gaan ook stemmen op om geen leeuwen, olifanten en andere wilde dieren
kunstjes te laten vertonen in de rondreizende circustenten.
