Meestal zijn de imams en de islam het hoofdslachtoffer in dit soort discussies, maar er zijn er bij die het niet schromen om andere religie's of religieuze leiders door het slijk halen en er met de overwinnaarsbuit vandoor te gaan...

Vraagje : wat wil je bereiken, naast het tonen van solidariteit, met die vlag?
In het vorige deel stond een opmerking van iemand, waarom je op die dag naast de Palestijnse vlag, ook de Israëlische vlag niet uithangt? Ook die bevolking lijdt. Beide volkeren lijden immers onder het bewind van hun regeringen?

The Israeli Defence Forces found the photo during a search of a Palestinian militant's home in Hebron. The child was pictured wearing a belt of fake explosives and bullets.

But the family told Sky's Andrew Wilson the picture was "just a joke".
"The photograph was taken some time ago at a party when someone dressed up the cutest baby as a suicide bomber," one relative said.
The picture went around the world and became a symbol of despair for all those who want peace in the Middle East.
Suicide bombers have taken on heroic status in the occupied territories with posters and pictures of them plastered on walls and homes.
They believe they will go to heaven if they succeed in their mission to kill Israelis and end the occupation.
Bombers' funerals take place in the belief that the deceased will go to paradise.
And there is seemingly no end to the number of Palestinians willing to sacrifice their lives for the Palestinian cause.
With the Israelis proving ineffective in stopping the bombers getting into Jerusalem, the tactic of suicide bombing is highly successful, and is perhaps the only tool the Palestinians have to fight the heavily-equipped Israelis.
Carnage
Around 26 Israeli civilians have been killed in back-to-back bombings this month.
And along with the deaths, dozens of Israelis have been maimed and disfigured by the attacks.
Israeli medics say bombers have packed their explosives with nails, ball bearings and anti-coagulants to cause maximum damage.
Last month a Palestinian bomber aged 16 killed two Israelis in a park near Tel Aviv.
Issa Bdeir became the youngest attacker to blow himself up.
An Israeli baby was also killed when a suicide bomber hit a crowded bus last week.
Meanwhile President George W Bush has insisted that his Middle East proposals had been welcomed by G8 leaders meeting in Canada.
The move comes despite reports of a serious rift between Britain and Washington over President Bush's call for Yasser Arafat to stand down.

Powell says determined to freeze out Arafat, seek new leaders

Colin Powell: Arafat's leadership 'has not matched at this time the needs of the Palestinian people.'

WASHINGTON - U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell held firm Friday on excluding Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat from Middle East peacemaking and turning to other potential Palestinian leaders.
"There's a price to be paid for inaction against terrorism, inaction against reform," said Powell, adding that he had had "the most direct conversations" with Arafat to try to sway him "but we've not seen change or improvement."
In fact, Powell said, an attempt to smuggle in Iranian weapons and evidence Arafat authorized a payment to a group that carried out a suicide bombing against Israel hardened the U.S. administration's resolve to turn to other Palestinian leaders.
"There are others in the Palestinian movement who can help transform it," Powell said.
While President George W. Bush's call for Arafat's ouster has not met with unanimous approval around the world, Powell said, "it is universally recognized" among Arab and other leaders that the current leadership of the Palestinian people under Arafat has failed.
Looking ahead, Powell said the Bush administration would focus in coming weeks and months on pushing reform of Palestinian institutions. "Clearly, we are anxious to work with responsible leaders in the Palestinian movement," he said, "and we are ready to mobilize the international community."
"We are going to be focusing on transformation," Powell said.
The secretary refrained from suggesting Israel consider terminating its latest military foray into Palestinian-held positions on the West Bank. "People have to defend themselves against terrorism," he said.
Still, Powell called on Israel to loosen its restraints on Palestinian workers so they could get to their jobs. "The current Israeli activity makes things more difficult," he said.
Powell acknowledged that Bush's prescription for Palestinian statehood within three years, and without Arafat, "may have jarred some nerves, upset some people."
But, he said, the speech last Monday reflected reality.
"He made it clear the current leadership, the leadership of Chairman Arafat, has not matched at this time the needs of the Palestinian people," Powell said.
He said he had no plans to get in touch with Arafat or to see him "although I don't know what the future holds."
And Ronald Schlicher, who heads the U.S. consulate in Jerusalem that is in regular contact with the Palestinian Authority, "has had no occasion to speak with Mr. Arafat in recent days," Powell said.
Sha'ath: Nothing to stop Arafat from running in elections
Palestinian cabinet minister Nabil Sha'ath said Friday that nothing prevented Yasser Arafat from running in next year's presidential vote, but he declined to say whether he might challenge him.
"He has all the right to nominate himself. It is only his prerogative to run or not to run," Sha'ath told a news conference on the sidelines of a meeting of business and political leaders in this exclusive Swiss Alpine resort.
"We have not yet opened the registration for the elections and he has all the time to decide," Sha'ath said. "But once he decides to run again, the decision becomes that of the Palestinian electorate."
Asked if he would be a candidate, Sha'ath declined to answer, saying only that Arafat was the democratically elected president and that the contest was open to anyone who wanted to run.

Elk volk krijgt de leider die het verdient, en de kiesgerechtigde Palestijnen verdienen kennelijk niet beter.
Alleen jammer dat Saddam Hussein zich niet verkiesbaar wil/kan stellen. Een groot deel van het terroristenvolk zou zich vermoedelijk voor hem uitspreken.
