Bij de doortocht van een tornado in Auckland in Nieuw-Zeeland zijn twee mensen om het leven gekomen en meer dan 20 anderen gewond geraakt. De tornado richtte een ware ravage aan in Albany, zo'n 20 kilometer ten noorden van het centrum van Auckland. Wagens werden meegesleurd, daken afgerukt en bomen ontworteld, zo melden lokale media.
