PR: Starz premiers new Torchwood series July 8th
Good news for all you Captain Jack stalkers, he is back in your livingroom this July, courtesy of STARZ!

STARZ announced today that Torchwood: Miracle Day will premiere on Friday, July 8th at 10pm ET/PT. The US installment of the BBC smash hit series will star Mekhi Phifer (ER, Lie to Me), Bill Pullman (Independence Day, The Grudge) and, in an extended guest role, Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under, The Other Woman) and is currently in production in Los Angeles.
Bill Pullman, who portrays Oswald Danes, a former school teacher and convicted child killer, and Phifer, join Torchwood alumni John Barrowman (Capt. Jack Harkness) and Eve Myles (Gwen Cooper) in the series. Also joining the cast are Alexa Havins (When in Rome, Fat Girls) as Esther Drummond, a deskbound CIA employee who dreams of active duty and who suddenly finds herself running alongside Jack, Gwen and Rex; and Arlene Tur (Crash, Eat Pray Love) as Dr. Vera Juarez, a Washington D.C. surgeon, who finds herself on the frontline of medical care on Miracle Day advising the government think-tanks on the best course of action for the worlds population.
Torchwood begins with a day when nobody dies. All across the world, nobody dies. And then the next day, and the next, and the next, people keep aging, they get hurt and sick, but they never die. The result: a population boom, overnight. With all the extra people, resources are finite. Its said that in four months time, the human race will cease to be viable. But this cant be a natural event someones got to be behind it. Its a race against time as C.I.A. agent Rex Matheson investigates a global conspiracy. The answers lie within an old, secret British institute. As Rex keeps asking What is Torchwood?, hes drawn into a world of adventure, and a threat to change what it means to be human, forever.

Ik moet direct denken aan The Doctor's Daughter. Dat was ook totaal iets anders dan we verwachtten. Dus we wachten wel even af. Ik denk (of verwacht) iig niet dat River Song's achtergrond wordt onthuld in een niet-Moffat episode, dus ik gok dat dit geen River-episode wordt.

Vanavond 11PM, vlak voor het BBC News op BBC One, de nieuwe 60sec DW6 trailer. En kort daarna op YouTube, zodat wonderer 'm ook kan kijken.

Update: Unfortunately, the trailer has been delayed until Wednesday. It will now be on just before 8pm.
Exciting news! If all last weeks Doctor Who treats werent enough, BBC1 are to air a new Series 6 trailer later tonight.
The trailer will be around 60 seconds long and will be shown after Silk. Basically, youll want to tune into BBC1 about 9:55pm to catch it. Just to be on the safe side.
A shorter 20 second one will also air on CBBC with some of the scarier moments removed.
Hopefully it will be available on the official site as well.
Doctor Who returns at Easter with The Impossible Astronaut.

Ik vind 'm gaaf. Straks even kijken of-ie nog op BBC One wordt vertoond. Even op m'n grotere tv kijken.
