Although the song sounds old, like an 90s song, and although the song isnt really that memorable the first times you hear it, it needs a couple of "listen-throuhgs" to stick, I still like it.
Its a nice song, probably the best The Netherlands have had for some years. I dont think it will win, but its a good song none the less.

Good Luck to you I say!

Good luck!

I've only heard the song once, I think it's boring and nothing really special Lets hope it gets changed into English
quote:
Great radio-friendly song, very catchy but not annoying. Hopefully it will be kept in Dutch.
Prediction: Qualification, top 15 in the final, maybe top 10 thanks to the juries.
quote:
Finally something decent and for my music taste normal and listenable from The Netherlands. After TROS announced 3JS as their representative I was sure they will make something good to present in Germany. Je Vecht Nooit Alleen is good anthemic rock song, very related to U2 style which is very good IMO. Also I like and respect fact that song is in Dutch language. I hope they will not change it. Needless to say that this entry is best one in last couple of years. Of course 3 minute of silence will be better than last two entries... Anyway I hope jury and televoters will support Dutch effort this year and we will see The Netherlands in final after 6 long years.
Prediction: pass to final
Rate: 8.0/10
quote:
Clearly the best one they could choose. It's a nice radio friendly song, but I'm afraid they will struggle again for getting a place in the final. 6.5/10
quote:
Wonderful song, I really like it in dutch, and I'd even like this in english I think. The verses are a bit harmless, but the refrain is anthemic and pop-rockish as I enjoy it They should work on their looks though, if they want a decent result. But by far the best song for now.. 8/10
quote:
the Dutchies will finally make it to the final this year. A very easy-going and voting-friendly song which will sound even better in English. It will get a boost by the juries (I expect lower televoting in the semi just because they perform in the first half) and will likely make it. However, I can see this getting totally lost in the final, but Dutchies will be happy just being there.
quote:
They care so much about Eurovision (Guess you didn't notice the sarcasm). 2/10
quote:
Decent backround music, definitely not a right song for ESC. The boring live performance made the song even more forgettable, but I'm sure this will grow on me. Hopefully they'll decide to sing in English in Düssedorf since Dutch is not one of my favourite languages. (4/10)

Greysvrijdag 11 februari 2011 @ 12:27

Really good contemporary song from the Netherlands this year, similar in style to what's being produced at the moment by Take That and Biffy Clyro, I think.....with some good attention to detail and thought regarding translating this song into English and I reckon this song will be a very strong contender in May. Definately my favourite so far!

I think the song is okay. Instead of being a definite non-qualifier, it's a "maybe". If it does get through it probably won't set the scoreboard alight. The problem lies with the choice of band: their style is laid back, which won't stand out in Eurovision. I think they would be better off translating it into English though, as that way more people will understand them.

So, Eurovision then.. As you probably know, my last years favourites were Didrik and Lena. This year is pretty hard to tell, and maybe it´s just too early to predict something. Paradise Oskar (Finland 2011) :)

“The Netherlands is my favourite! He’s got a good voice and I like that song with rock feeling. I prefer the original Dutch version even if I have no idea what he sings about. It just feels more right. Haba Haba from Norway just puts you into good mood, can’t help it! That really stuck in my head, just like Hungary. What about my dreams is really catchy and makes you wanna dance!” says Axel and starts humming the song so indeed he remembers it my heart.

So far: (03-04-2011)

Sweden 2153p, UK 2022, Estonia 2008, Hungary 1643, Denmark 1427, Norway 1351, Germany 1174, Azerbaijan 1004, B&H 992, Poland 985, France 848, Latvia 789, Ireland 725, Netherlands 675, Romania 655, Spain 655, Switzerland 599, Slovakia 586, Israel 581, Slovenia 544, Finland 535, Turkey 505, Bulgaria 497, Austria 443, Albania 427 || Greece 380, Russia 362, Serbia341, Croatia335, Geor, Ital, Arme, Malt, Cypr, Icel, Bela, Belg, Lith, Ukra, FYRM, SanM, Mold, Port (less than 300)

Michelle Farrugia: Well I really like this song! It is nice and tight and very well produced. The lead singer has a very appealing voice and the whole band reminds me of INXS and U2 (what a complement!) Apart from that, I think the song just goes where the listener wants it to go and it is not at all over the top or in your face. I think they will do very well in the contest and maybe even win. Let’s just hope the live performance lives up to the video clip. I have to give Never Alone 10 points. I quite honestly wouldn’t change a thing.

Tobias Larsson: Another nice one, but according to my logic it is better to be bad than to be nice in the ESC. Who jumps to their feet to vote like mad for something that is OK? This is, in all fairness, a bit more than OK, with a very pleasant melody line and delivered by a good voice, but it will suffer if the performance is as static as in the national final. If they manage to inject some life into it, this song could be a qualifier on a good day. Hmm, let's give this song 5 points.

Steve Allen: Good pop rock voice. Bit of a James Blunt look visually, classic European meets Bon Jovi rock pop song and not bad but is the chorus big enough? I would like to give this song a total of 7 points.

quote:
Although I preferred the Dutch version of this song for very personal reasons (I love listening to Dutch ...) this is still the best Dutch ESC entry since 2001 and I certainly hope that 3JS will get a much better result than Michelle got 10 years ago. I am a wee bit afraid that the Romanian and Danish songs might seriously damage this beautiful and straightforward song's (which is miles better than the other 2 imo ...) chances of getting its well deserved place in Saturday's show. If this one doesn't qualify in week semi 2, the Dutch will have every right to complain.
quote:
Netherlands 11 is a long i really enjoy to hear! It's one of my favorites and their best effort since i don't remember when.It deserves to qualify undoubtedly i.m.o.3JS seem like very confident performers so i hope to see Netherlands in the final after so much time!Good luck!
quote:
3JS deserves to qualify without any doubt, I will do my best and support it in the semi, hope the rest of Europe thinks like me!
Best of luck Netherlands
quote:
I like them, he sings great live and the song is one of the better ones this year. It's a 7/10 I think. I preferred it in Dutch, but it works in English too without dropping on my list. I hope they will qualify this year. They might since they are in semi 2, but it could also be too underwhelming/anonymous and drown among the others.
quote:
This song has an instantly catchy chorus that I loved from the beginning. On the other hand it's too "decent" to attract the average televoter but I'm pretty much sure that juries will boost the Netherlands up on the scoreboard. If 3J's can convince televoting as well, then the Netherlands will be in the Final again!
Currently my #13 this year ( #5 in second semi )
Prediction : 5 - 14 in semi 10 - 20 if in final
Good luck !
quote:
I love this song!!! Since the begining I waited for a good song from the Netherlands when they were announced and I was not disappointed!! And I'm really happy that guys will perform in the semifinal 2 so it will be easier to qualify /realistic/. This is my favorite song this year!! And if guys won't make final with this really good song it will mean one thing that in majority euro voters and jurors have no ears and that Netherlands may call this contest biased and leave it!!
This really deserves to make top 10 /as for me to win/ hope jurors will help this year this entry as they did last year with other Benelux country!!
