The Efteling @ Kaatsheuvel - a fairy tale theme park with rollercoasters and amusement rides

Six Flags @ Biddinghuizen - which is now called Walibi World (again) - less of a theme park but with spectacular rides

Zoo/Animal parks:

Artis (Natura Artis Magistra) @ Amsterdam - the oldest zoo in The Netherlands

Burgers Zoo @ Arnhem - the biggest zoo with 8 theme sites

Beekse Bergen @ Hilvarenbeek - there is a section where you can drive through with your own car, as if you were on a safari

2nd World War-remembrance

Netherlands American Cemetery @ Margraten - Europe's third largest war cemetery for unidentified soldiers

Oorlogsmuseum @ Overloon

Furthermore, in the province Limburg, we have the 3-landen-punt (1 place - where 3 countries border) and The Mergelgrotten (an elaborate cave-system through which tours are held)

Enkhuizen is an little old (VOC) harbour-town, with a large marina situated at a big lake called 'IJsselmeer'. Visiting the open-air museum "Zuiderzeemuseum" is a nice daytrip (also a better alternative for Zaansche Schans). You can travel to Enkhuizen by train from Amsterdam (about 1 hour).
If you like, in this region you can combine a visit to Enkhuizen with a "Westfrisian journey through time" (travelling with an old steamtram from Hoorn to Medemblik, then taking the boat to Enkhuizen, and back home with regular train service).
